After carrying out all the assembly and installation
procedures, the compressor is ready to run. The start-up
procedure should be carried out as soon as the compressor
is installed and in the following order:
1. Check the oil level sight glass (20) and plug in the
power cord;
2. Set the "ON/OFF" switch (6), located on the contactor
box (8), to the "I" position;
3. Pull up the reset switch (14) to start the compressor
motor;
- The compressor motor will run until the tank is
completely full. When the tank reaches its maximum
pressure, set on the pressure switch (15), the motor
switches off automatically.
-
As soon as the motor shuts down, the compressed air
accumulated in the discharge pipe between the
compressor pump and the check valve is released. This
is the necessary condition to prevent to motor from
restarting under stress. This prevents motor damage
and extends its service life.
4. Press down the reset switch to stop the motor and
prevent it from starting automatically;
5. Open the tank drain valve (22), to empty condensed
water inside the tank;
6. After all the condensed water has come out, tighten the
tank drain valve;
7. Connect the air blow guns or compressed air tools to
outlet valves with quick-release coupling (2) or connect
them to fixed compressed air line;
8. Pull up the reset switch so that the compressor is ready
to start;
- When the compressor is switched on, if the pressure
in the air tank is lower than the minimum pressure set
on the pressure switch, the motor starts immediately.
9. Check the pipes or couplings/fittings for air leaks. If you
do not have any tools or equipment attached to the
compressor or in the air line and the compressor starts
up systematically, there is leakage.
The automatic operation of the compressor is controlled by
a pressure switch (15). The compressor starts when the
minimum pressure is reached and stops when the
maximum pressure is reached if the reset switch is pulled
upwards.
Do not adjust factory set pressure settings. They shall not
be changed.
The reset switch attached to the pressure switch enables
the compressor to be stopped whenever the user wishes or
in the event of an emergency.
The safety valve or pressure relief valve is set to trip
according to the permitted pressure of the air receiver tank
(21). If for some reason the permitted tank pressure is
reached and the motor does not stop, the safety valve
should open.
The safety valve in the air line (10) is set to trip according
to the permissible pressure in the compressed air line. If for
some reason the admissible pressure in the tank is reached
and the motor does not stop, the safety valve should open.
It is not allowed to adjust the safety valve or remove the
plastic seal.
For the safety valve to work properly in case of need, it
should be actuated regularly.
1. Pull the ring tight until compressed air audibly flows out.
Then release the ring.
When
there
are
blockages
moving/rotating parts, or any other condition that could
affect the compressor operation, the temperature rises too
high, and the contactor thermal relay is triggered.
There are two options for restarting the compressor:
automatic or manual resetting of the thermal relay.
Automatic reset:
(Thermal relay push-button pressed and held to the left)
The thermal relay resets automatically without the need for
intervention.
Manual reset:
(Button to the right)
1. Let the compressor cool down;
2. Open the junction box of the contactor (8);
3. Press the thermal relay push-button;
If the thermal relay push-button does not reset, the cooling
was not enough.
4. Place the cover on the junction box;
5. Pull the reset button to start the compressor (14).
