Using the appliance
N.B.
• The refrigerator uses an alternating power supply of 220 V-240 V, 50 Hz. If the voltage variations are
significant (higher than 187-264 V), they may cause malfunctions such as failure of the refrigerator
to start up, fire in the main control panel and compressor, compressor making an unusual noise,
etc. In this case, you should install an automatic voltage regulator of more than 1,000 W. The
refrigerator's power cord, which is fitted with a three-terminal plug (earth), is compliant with
standard three-terminal sockets (earth). You must never disconnect or remove the third pin from
the plug. Once the refrigerator has been installed, the sockets must be accessible so that the
appliance can be used easily. The plug must be properly connected to the socket; otherwise it
could present a fire hazard.
• Do not hold onto or pull on the power cord to unplug the refrigerator. Hold the plug firmly and
remove it directly from the socket. Do not allow electrical wires to be squashed by the refrigerator
to trampled on by people. Take care once the refrigerator has been unplugged. Make sure that
the plugs are not twisted or damaged. Do not use plugs and sockets if they are damaged or worn.
Contact an approved service centre to have plugs replaced if they are worn or damaged.
• In the event of an inflammable gas leak, such as coal gas, close the gas valve, open all doors
and windows and do not unplug or plug in the refrigerator or other appliances.
• Do not store any explosive substances (e.g. aerosols containing inflammable propellant) in this
appliance.
• Do not use inflammable solvents in the vicinity of the refrigerator as they could present a fire
hazard.
• For optimum safety, avoid placing sockets, regulated power supply sources, microwave ovens or
any other appliance on top of the refrigerator. Do not use other appliances inside the refrigerator
(apart from the recommended models) to prevent electromagnetic interference and other accidents.
• Do not allow children to climb inside or on top of the refrigerator. This precaution will prevent
children from being locked inside the refrigerator and will prevent it from falling and injuring them.
• Once the refrigerator is in operation, do not touch the frozen surface of the freezer with wet
hands as this could cause freezing burns.
• The spaces between the different doors of the appliance and between the doors and the body
of the appliance are restricted. Take care not to trap your fingers. Keep children away from the

refrigerator when opening and closing the doors.
• Do not spray or rinse the refrigerator with water. Do not install the refrigerator in a damp area
or an area exposed to water or rain to ensure that its electrical insulation is not damaged.
• Never dismantle and transform the refrigerator yourself and make sure that the cooling channels
are not damaged. Regular maintenance of the refrigerator should be carried out by professionals.
• Do not place bottles of beer inside the freezer. It could freeze the content and cause the bottle
to break.
• Unplug your appliance in the event of a power cut and before cleaning. Wait for at least 5 minutes
before plugging the refrigerator back in again. A continuous start-up can damage the compressor.
• Before disposing of your refrigerator at the end of its life, remove the door, door seals and shelves.
Position the door and the grille so as to prevent children from climbing inside the appliance and
to prevent accidents.
