4. OPERATION
You must fully assemble the compressor
before using it for the first time.
Long supply cables, extensions, cable reels
etc cause a drop in voltage and can impede
motor start-up. Do not use cables longer
than 10m. Vonroc advises to use a longer
air hose instead.
It can be more difficult to start-up the motor
during conditions of temperatures below 5°C.
The head/cylinder/transmission pipe
assembly may reach high temperatures, so
take care when working close to these
parts and do not touch them to avoid burns.
Starting up (Fig. A)
1. Check whether the mains voltage corresponds
to that indicated on the electrical specification
plate.
2. Push the ON/OFF switch (2) into the position 'O'
to switch the compressor off.
3. Put the plug in the plug socket.
4. Pull the ON/OFF switch (2) into the position 'I'
to switch the compressor on.
5. The operation of the compressor is fully
automatic. The pressure switch (3) will stop
the compressor when the maximum value has
been reached and start it up when the pressure
drops below the minimum value. The pressure
switch (3) is set at the factory. Normally the
difference in pressure is approx. 2 Bar/29 psi
between the maximum and the minimum value.
The compressor will stop when it reaches 8
Bar (116 psi) (this is the maximum operating
pressure) and will start up automatically when
the pressure within the tank has dropped to 6
Bar (87 psi).
Connecting the air hose and tool (Fig. A)
1. Turn the pressure regulator (4) turning knob
anti-clockwise till pressure is fully released.
2. Insert the connector of the air hose (not inclu-
ded) into the quick coupler (5) on the compres-
sor. When pushing, the connector clicks into
place to secure the air hose.
3. Connect the air tool (not included) you want to
use to the quick coupler of the air hose.

4. Turn the pressure regulator (4) turning knob
clockwise, till the pressure gauge (6) shows the
pressure level you need.
5. Your air tool is now ready to use.
Disconnecting the air hose and tool (Fig. A)
When releasing the quick coupler, be sure
to hold the hose to protect yourself from
injury from the rebounding hose.
1. Turn the pressure regulator (4) turning knob
anti-clockwise till pressure is fully released.
2. Reduce the pressure by activating the air tool
(not included).
3. Pull back the sleeve on the air hose quick
coupler and remove your air tool.
4. Pull back the sleeve on the quick coupler (5)
and remove the hose.
Reading the pressure (Fig. A)
The compressor has two pressure gauges (6,7).
The tank pressure can be read on the pressure
gauge (7) and the operating pressure (regulated
pressure) can be read on the pressure gauge (6).
The black scale indicates the pressure in bar and
the red scale indicates the pressure in PSI.
Adjusting the operating pressure (Fig. A)
It is not always necessary to use the
maximum operating pressure. The air tools
often require less pressure. Always check
the correct operating pressure of the tool
you intend to use.
With regard to compressors supplied with a
pressure regulator (4) it is necessary to set the
operating pressure properly. It is possible to set the
operating pressure by using the turning knob on
the pressure regulator(4):
• By turning clockwise, the operating pressure
will be increased.
• By turning anti-clockwise, the operating pressu-
re will be reduced.
Note: when not connecting an air tool while adjus-
ting the pressure, it might occur the pressure gauge
(6) is not reacting accurately on the pressure drop.
Overload switch (Fig. A)
The motor is fitted with an overload switch (14). If
the compressor overloads, the overload switch (14)
