Overview of inspection and
maintenance work
The dock leveller has been designed with regard to
provide the lowest possible maintenance expenses.
Safe operation can only be guaranteed if mainten-
ance work is carried out regularly.
Dock levellers that are permanently connected to the
building must be checked for safe condition by an ex-
pert/qualified person before initial operation and at
least once a year thereafter. The inspection particu-
larly comprises the following:

Dock levellers must also be inspected after essential
repair work, e.g. after welding work on load-bearing
components. The extent of the required inspection
depends on the extent of the repair work.
A written record with the results of the inspection in-
cluding date, name, address and signature of the
qualified person must be kept by the operator.
Observe inspection and maintenance intervals to en-
sure safe operation of the dock levellers.
