11 Using the Pole Pruner
11.1
Holding and Controlling the
Pole Pruner
► Hold the pole pruner by the control handle with
one hand – wrap your thumb around the con‐
trol handle.
► Hold the pole pruner firmly with your other
hand by the handle hose – wrap your thumb
around the handle hose.
11.2
Delimbing
Cross-cut
► Place the guide bar on the branch as shown.
► With the chain running at full speed, pivot the
guide bar downward against the limb.
► Cut through the limb with the bottom of the
guide bar.

► If the limb is under tension: Make the relieving
cut (1) at the compression side and then per‐
form the bucking cut (2) from the tension side.
