Adjusting the Traction Control Cable and
Drive Belt
The traction cables and drive belt are adjusted at the factory.
Adjustments are unnecessary. However, if the cables are
stretched or the traction drive belt slips, an adjustment might
be necessary. Please see an Authorized Service Dealer for
these adjustments.
Replacing the Auger Shear Pins
DANGER
The snowthrower contains a rotating auger and impeller that
throws snow. Fingers or feet can quickly become caught in
the auger or impeller and result in traumatic amputation or
severe laceration.
• STOP the engine, wait for all moving parts to stop, and
remove the engine key before maintenance or repairs.
1. STOP the engine. Remove the key.
2. Remove the existing shear pins  and clips.
3. Apply grease to the auger grease fittings, (if equipped).
Turn the auger quickly to lubricate the auger shaft.
4. Align the bolt holes. Install the new shear pins (A,
Figure 25) through the auger shaft (B). Install the clips (C)
into the holes of the shear pins.
