Over-the-Head Headset Overview
This user manual applies to all over-the-head headset.

Operating Over-the-Head Headset
Prerequisites: Turn off the radio.
Procedure:
1 Connect the headset to the radio, making sure not to over tighten the mounting screw.
2 Turn on the radio, making sure not to set the volume level of the radio too loud.
3 Adjust the head strap for best fit and comfort.
4 Position the boom microphone 1/2 to 3/4 inch from your mouth.
5 To transmit audio from headset microphone, press the PTT.
6 To receive audio into headset speakers, release the PTT.
NOTE: On some radio models, the Voice Over Activation (VOX) functionality is activated
by radio settings. Refer to the radio Customer Programming Software (CPS) for
configuration.
