4. Resin and Cartridge Replacement
1. Relieve pressure by pressing the red buttons on top.
2. Using supplied housing wrench (part #5), loosen housings by turning clockwise
(from right to left); then use your hands to "unscrew" each of the two housings.
Lift resin cartridges out of housings. Then follow instructions (a) or (b) below.
Be aware that both housings are filled with water.
a) Resin Replacement Using Pre-Measured Refill Bags (i.e. DIR25)
1a Unscrew the blue cap on the bottom of the cartridge and dump the used resin
into a trash container. Rinse the cartridges to remove any remaining used resin.
2a. Cut the corner off of the pre-measured resin refill bag and squeeze the entire
contents of one bag into one of the cleancartridges (lightly bounce the cartridg
to help settle theresin into the container). Repeat the process with the other
cartridge and a new resin bag. Screw the blue cap back on bottom, with gasket
facing up. (Note: Most refill bags have 25 litres. One cartridge of DI140 contains
4,5 litres. If not used completely, close the resin bag airtight, i.e. in a bucket).
3a. Reinsert cartridges into the blue housings, with gasket facing up.
4a. Screw the housings back into their caps and tighten (not too tight) by
turning counterclockwise with housing wrench.
5a Repeat these steps for the second filter.
b) Resin Replacement Using New, Pre-Filled Cartridges (DIC22)
1b Insert new cartridges into housings
2b. Reinsert cartridges, with gasket facing up, into the blue housings.
3b. Screw the housing back into the top of the unit and secure with housing wrench
by turning counterclockwise.
4b Repeat these steps for the second filter.
