Assemble Hilti retaining leash (optional)
ATTENTION
Damage to the product and / or the retaining leash. Incorrect handling can result in damage to the
product and/or retaining leash.
▶ Do not use a metal chain as a retaining leash. Do not use retaining leashes longer than 6 ft (2 m).
To avoid damage and injury, when working at a height it is advisable to use the Hilti retaining strap.
The retaining strap allows a securing cord or leash to be attached.
When working with the product, you must comply with national regulations for working at heights.
1. Remove the battery.
2. Insert the two tabs on the retaining leash into the slots on each side of the base.
3. Secure the retaining leash with the screws supplied.
4. Refit the battery.

Dismantle the Hilti retaining leash (optional)
1. Remove the battery.
2. Remove the two retaining strap securing screws.
3. Pull the two retaining strap tabs out of the slots in the base and remove the retaining strap.
4. Refit the battery.

Crimping

WARNING
Danger! Risk of fire due to faulty crimping.
▶ Use only cable terminals of the correct type and size for the cable. Failure to observe this point can result
in faulty crimping.
▶ Listen for the signal tone and check that the piston has retracted. If no signal tone is heard or if the piston
does not retract then the crimping is faulty.
WARNING
Risk of injury! Unintentional starting.
▶ Remove the battery before inserting the parts to be connected, i.e. crimped.
1. Open the latch and pivoting bar and insert the connector in the die.
2. Close the pivoting bar and the latch.
3. Insert the battery.
4. Press the control switch.
5. Keep the control switch pressed until the piston has retracted.
6. Open the latch and pivoting bar and remove the connector.

Care and maintenance
WARNING
Risk of injury with battery inserted !
▶ Always remove the battery before carrying out care and maintenance tasks!
Care and maintenance of the tool
Carefully remove stubborn dirt.
Clean the air vents carefully with a dry brush.
Use only a slightly damp cloth to clean the casing. Do not use cleaning agents containing silicone as
these can attack the plastic parts.
Care of the Li­ion batteries
Keep the battery free from oil and grease.
