ADDITIONAL ADJUSTMENTS OF THE STRAPS AT YOUR EARS (FOR MOD-
ELS WITH Y CHIN STRAP)
The strap guide should be positioned so that it fits just under your earlobes. To do this,
push the strap guide up or down until you find the proper position. If you are satisfied
with these adjustments, put the helmet on and try to pull the helmet off your head
from the back and the front. A helmet that fits properly should be comfortable without
sliding forwards or backwards.
If you are not able to adjust your chosen helmet accordingly, THEN DO NOT USE THE
HELMET - replace it with a different size helmet or a different model.
Note : Please always remember to make sure your helmet (or your child's helmet) is
properly adjusted each time before you ski or snowboard. If you have any questions,
please contact your SCOTT dealer. SCOTT SPORTS shall not accept any complaints
arising from the use of an incorrect fitted helmet.
EAR COVERS
The SCOTT TRACKER helmets allow you to use your helmet either
with or without ear covers.
Select your preferred method of use. Be aware that, without the ear
covers, the helmet's protective capacity can only be achieved in part
and that the exposed parts of your ears may be injured during a fall
or the like.
IV. TRANSPORTATION AND STORAGE
When transporting or storing keep your helmet in the soft bag supplied in the retail
box. Let your helmet air dry after each use and then store it in a cool dry place.
Plastic shells can melt at high temperatures (above 40 °C). For this reason, do not
leave your helmet in the car or near direct or indirect sources of heat or warmth. Dam-
age due to improper storage is not covered by any warranty.
V. CLEANING AND CARE
How to keep your helmet like new? We recommend you clean your helmet with a
mild detergent and water only. Do not apply hydrocarbons, cleaning liquids, solvents,
paints, adhesives, self-adhesive labels or other external influences which may damage
your helmet and possibly rob it of its protective properties – even if you cannot directly
see the damage externally. Any subsequent paint applied to the helmet automatically
voids any warranty claim.
LINING
You can easily remove the inner lining by hand and wash it by hand using a mild soap.
Never machine-wash the lining pieces at high temperatures.
For cleaning, maintenance or disinfection, use only substances that have no adverse
effect on the helmet and are not known to be likely to have any adverse effect upon
the wearer. If you do not respect those indications your helmet will lose its technical
effectiveness and this will automatically void any warranty claim.
All helmets are subject to a limited service life and should be replaced if they show
obvious signs of wear or after serious falls. Replace your helmet with a new one at
least every three (3) years.
