• Always confirm the scale system functions on the P P r r o o C C u u i i t t y y bed after you setup the support surface to prevent product
malfunction. Always make sure that the bed is zeroed/tared with the support surface on the frame for the appropriate
patient weight for therapy.
• Do not use fitted sheets with this support surface.
• Always follow your hospital CPR protocols. Make sure that the operator has access to the CPR straps.
• Do not exceed the safe working load of the product.
• Always monitor the patient condition at regular intervals for patient safety.
C C A A U U T T I I O O N N
• Improper usage of the product can cause injury to the patient or operator. Operate the product only as described in this
manual.
• Do not modify the product or any components of the product. Modifying the product can cause unpredictable operation
resulting in injury to patient or operator. Modifying the product also voids its warranty.
• Only use I I s s o o l l i i b b r r i i u u m m PE with the compatible P P r r o o C C u u i i t t y y bed frame. Use of this device on an incompatible frame will cause
improper or no function of the support surface. Failure to use a compatible frame may void warranty if damages incur.
• Risk of Shock. This product must only be connected to the appropriate terminal on the P P r r o o C C u u i i t t y y bed frame.
• Explosion risk. This product is not suitable for use in the presence of flammable anesthetic mixture with air or with
oxygen or nitrous oxide other than nasal, mask type, or half bed-length tent type.
• Do not move the support surface without assistance.
• Always use the bottom cover retainer straps to secure the support surface to the P P r r o o C C u u i i t t y y bed frame.
• Do not stick needles into a support surface through the support surface cover. Holes may allow body fluids to enter the
inside (inner core) of the support surface and could cause cross-contamination, product damage, or product
malfunction.
• Always center the patient on the support surface. Align the patient's head toward the headboard before you start
functions. Check the patient to maintain the proper position.
• Always make sure that the tubes and wires connected to the patient are long enough, stable, and secure while lateral
rotation or turn assist is active.
• Always raise the bed siderails before you start turn assist or lateral rotation functions.
• Do not allow sharp edges from the X-ray plate to come in contact with the support surface cover. The recommendation is
you cover the X-ray plate with a pillowcase or other device before placement under the patient. If damaged, remove the
support surface cover from service immediately to prevent cross contamination.
• Always confirm that all persons and equipment are away from the area below and around the Fowler before you activate
the CPR release handle. The CPR release handle is for emergency use only.
