■
Make sure that capacity (in ampere-hours) and voltage (in volts) of the battery comply
with the data set at the charging device.
Battery test
Before starting the charging process the battery status can be tested. Connect the red
terminal to "12V" or "24V", depending on the battery voltage. The display then shows the
actual voltage and the status of the battery in percent.
A 12 V-battery has 100% of its capacity when its voltage is higher than 12.8 V; and it has
0% of its capacity when its voltage is lower than 11.8 V.
Charging process
Once the device has been connected to the battery following the instructions (see section
"Connect and disconnect"), connect the red terminal, depending on the battery voltage
to either "12V" or "24V" and adjust the charging current according to the battery capacity
(push-button 13). Then select the battery type (push-button 12).
The standard setting of the charging current is "3" and the battery type is "Universal".

Automatic Restart (function only for charging)
In order to change the setting, press shortly or longer (>5 sec) onto push-button 9. Longer
pressing enables an automatic restart of the device, in case of a power outage. In this case
the LED's for voltage and percent are flashing.
In case you have confirmed your selection with pressing shortly, the device will not
automatically continue the charging process after the power supply had been restored.
In this case the LED's are lit alternately.
ATTENTION: In order to interrupt the charging process, press push-button 9.
An interruption of the power supply will not stop the charging process.
After having used the device, please follow the instructions of section "Connect and
disconnect".
UNIVERSAL Mode
In case the battery type is not known, chose UNIVERSAL as battery type.
TIMER Function
The TIMER button (14) allows you to adjust the charging time between 10 and 120 min, in
steps of 10 min. and it allows the charging of batteries below 1V.
Warning!
■
Charging is not electronically controlled and is only stopped at the end of the charging
time pre-set, when unplugging the power plug or by pressing button 9.
■
The display (2) shows alternately the remaining time in minutes and the voltage of the
battery in volt.
■
The device does not identify the battery voltage automatically. Please consider the bat-
tery voltage and adjust correspondingly to either 12V or 24V.
Note: The charging process starts when the battery
24 V
voltage is minimum 1 V.
