General notes

These installation instructions belong to the vehicle. Therefore, you
should always keep them in the vehicle.
In the case of vehicles with a 7-pin plug socket, an adapter (7-pin to
13-pin) is available from your Mercedes-Benz Service Centre.
The rear-mounted bicycle rack covers the licence plate and the lighting
system of the vehicle partially or completely. For this reason, when the
rear-mounted bicycle rack is mounted, a licence plate bearing the official
licence number of the vehicle must be attached and the plug connection
of the lighting system must be plugged in. When the rear-mounted bicycle
rack is fitted correctly to the vehicle, the vehicle's rear foglamps do not
function.
The permissible noseweight of the trailer coupling must be at least
110 lbs (50 kg) and the drawbar ratio of the coupling ball must be at least
6.7 kN (6.2 kN on the A-Class model series 168). These figures are
shown on the type plate of the trailer coupling.
Observe the relevant registration provisions/ legal requirements of the
country in which you are using or intend to use the rear-mounted bicycle
rack on the road.
