Connection – BeoLine base
> Connect the cords as shown.
> Connect the plug-in unit to the
telephone socket.
> Connect the mains adaptor to
the mains socket.
> If you have a BeoLine ISDN base,
the base indicator light (A)
flashes, indicating that the base
is open for registration of
handsets.
> If you have a BeoLine PSTN base,
press and hold the button on the
back (B) for at least four seconds
to open the base for registration
of handsets.
> Refer to the Guide enclosed with
your handset for information
about how to proceed with your
particular base.
If the mains adaptor is not plugged
in, or if the power supply is cut off,
your phone will not function. Make
alternative arrangements for access
to emergency services.
Placement – BeoLine base
In order to obtain the best range
possible, place the base in a high
and free-standing location, ideally
1.8–2.0 metres above the floor. Do
not place the base or the phone in
damp, dusty or dirty environments,
and do not expose the base or
phone to moisture or direct
sunlight. Do not mount the base
on a metal plate, as this affects the
signal range.
Maintenance – BeoLine base
Use a soft, damp cloth with a few
drops of mild detergent added to
clean the base.
Important information about
your BeoLine base
BeoLine PSTN is intended for use
on public analogue networks.
BeoLine ISDN is intended for use on
public ISDN networks. The bases
support services such as Caller ID,
as long as the automated service in
question is offered by your
telephone company. Some services
require you to take out special
subscriptions with the telephone
company. Not all supplementary
services offered by the different
service providers are available in all
countries.
Your base can only be expected to
function in the country for which it
was manufactured, as transmission
systems, legal requirements and
automated services may vary from
country to country. The packaging
will state for which country your
BeoLine base is manufactured. The
national identity letters can be
found above the lowest bar code
on the label. If you are in any
doubt about the use of your
BeoLine base, please contact your
retailer for more information.
Bang & Olufsen hereby declare that
BeoLine PSTN and BeoLine ISDN are
in accordance with the funda-
mental requirements and other
relevant regulations in Directive
1999/5/EC. Further information is
