Safety instructions
Warning! When using battery-powered appliances, basic
safety precautions, including the following, should always be
followed to reduce the risk of fire, leaking batteries, personal
injury and material damage.
Read all of this manual carefully before using the
appliance.
The intended use is described in this manual. The use of
any accessory or attachment or the performance of any
operation with this appliance other than those
recommended in this instruction manual may present a risk
of personal injury.
Keep hair, loose clothing and all parts of the body away
from the moving parts.
Do not put any objects into the appliance openings. Keep
the end of the rotating brush and other openings away from
your face and body.
Take extra precautions when cleaning on the stairs.
Make sure that the work area is well lit.
Avoid sweeping-up pieces of string or similar material to
prevent clogging of the appliance rotating parts.
Do not sweep-up or collect sharp items that could damage
the appliance.
Do not use on wet surfaces or sweep-up any liquids, toxic
substances, flammable or combustible liquids or use in
areas where they may be present.
Do not use the appliance without the dirt cup installed.
Do not sweep-up and collect anything that is burning or
smoking, such as cigarettes, matches or hot ash.
Do not use the appliance in the presence of explosive and/
or flammable fumes or liquids
Any electronic or electrical appliances should not be stored
in or exposed to areas of high heat or humidity.
Do not store your appliance close to ovens, radiators,
boilers or in a bathroom or bathing area.
Retain this manual for future reference.

Using your appliance
This appliance is not intended for use by young or infirm
persons without supervision.
The appliance is not to be used as a toy.
After use
When not in use, the appliance should be hung-up and
stored indoors, in a dry place.
Children should not have access to stored appliances.
Inspection and repairs
Before use, check the appliance for damaged or defective
parts. Check for breakage of parts, damage to switches and
any other conditions that may affect its operation.
Do not use the appliance if any part is damaged or
defective.
Have any damaged or defective parts repaired or replaced
by an authorised repair agent.
Never attempt to remove or replace any parts other than
those specified in this manual.
Additional safety instructions for non-rechargeable
batteries
Never attempt to open for any reason.
Do not store in locations where the temperature may
exceed 40 °C.
When disposing of batteries, follow the instructions given
in the section "Protecting the environment". Do not
incinerate the batteries.
Under extreme conditions, battery leakage may occur.
When you notice liquid on the batteries, proceed as
follows:
- Carefully wipe the liquid off using a cloth.
- Avoid skin contact.
Key information you should know
The dirt cup can only be removed and emptied when in the
sweep mode (fig. C, 1).
Do not push the dirt cup emptying button when removing
the dirt cup from the appliance.
For best pick-up performance while in the collect mode
(fig. C, 2), the broom head bristles should be facing towards
you.
Use only with AA alkaline batteries.
