PA Speaker System
GB
Please read these operating instructions carefully
prior to operating the unit and keep them for later
reference.
1 Applications
These speaker systems of the MEGA series have
been designed as 2-way systems for PA applica-
tions of highest requirements. They have a robust
cabinet of high quality birch plywood. The cabinet
shape and a great number of fixing points integrated
into the cabinet offer the most different possibilities
of setting up and mounting. The tweeter and the
bass speaker of a speaker system can be driven to-
gether via the internal crossover network or directly
in each case.
2 Important Notes
The speaker system corresponds to all relevant di-
rectives of the EU and is therefore marked with
The speaker system is suitable for indoor use

only. Protect it against dripping water and splash
water, high air humidity, and heat (admissible am-
bient temperature range 0 – 40 °C).
For cleaning only use a dry, soft cloth, never use
G
chemicals or water.
No guarantee claims for the speaker system and
G
no liability for any resulting personal damage or
material damage will be accepted if the speaker
system is used for other purposes than originally
intended, if it is not correctly connected, not
safely mounted, or not repaired in an expert way.
If the speaker system is to be put out of
operation definitively, take it to a local re-
cycling plant for a disposal which is not
harmful to the environment.
3 Setting up or Mounting
Place the speaker system on a solid ground e. g. on
the stage and direct it towards the audience. With
its bevelled cabinet shape, the system can also be
used as a stage monitor radiating diagonally up-
wards.
Alternatively, the speaker system can be placed
onto a standard speaker stand with 35 mm tube di-
ameter (e. g. from the PAST series of "img Stage
Line") via the stand sleeve in the lower side.
For additional mounting possibilities, e. g. sus-
pension, numerous M8 threaded jacks are inte-
grated into the cabinet. To use them, remove the
corresponding cover screws (hexagon socket
screws).

3.1 Turning the tweeter
For operating the speaker system mainly in a hori-
zontal position (e. g. as a floor monitor), the tweeter
may be turned by 90° for a wider radiation of the
high frequencies. For this purpose remove the metal
front (lateral screws), remove the four screws of the
tweeter and retighten it in a position turned counter-
clockwise by 90°.
4 Selecting the Operating Mode
Select the desired operating mode with the MODE
SWITCH on the rear side of the system.
IMPORTANT: To prevent switching noise and dam-
age to speaker or amplifier, do not actuate this
switch during ongoing operation!
Position PASSIVE MODE (
The input signal at the contacts 1+/1- of the
Speakon jacks is split to the tweeter and bass
speaker via the internal crossover network.
.
Position BI-AMP MODE (
The bass speaker is directly driven via the con-
tacts 1+/1- and the tweeter via the contacts
2+/2- of the Speakon jacks. For this operating
mode the frequency splitting of the signal must
already take place ahead of or in the amplifier
(e. g. by means of a DSM-240 or DSM-260; pre-
sets for these speakers under: www.imgstage-
line.com). An unfiltered signal must never reach
the tweeter; this signal may overload it (for rec-
ommended crossover frequency see table).
5 Connection
Only make the connection or change the existing
connection with the amplifier switched off.
1) Connect the amplifier output to one of the two
Speakon jacks on the rear side of the speaker
system. After inserting the speaker plug into the
jack, turn the plug clockwise until it locks into
place. For removing it later, withdraw the latch
lock at the plug and turn the plug counter-clock-
wise.
2) Another speaker system may be connected to
the other jack. All contacts of both jacks are con-
nected in parallel with each other. Make sure that
the amplifier will not be overloaded by the paral-
lel connection of several speakers.
Subject to technical modifications.
