When heating (above all in the presence of oil), the stone can give off a smell and a light
smoke. This phenomenon disappears after a couple of minutes. The stone can also lose its
colour and become darker. This decolouration does not have any influence on the
functioning of the appliance.
Wait until the stone and the grill are hot before placing foodstuffs on them. Control the
grilling of the foodstuffs and turn them over regularly with a wooden spatula. Do not pick
the meat, it could lose its juice and its taste. Small pieces of meat and fish will be ready
more quickly than large pieces and will be better grilled. So it is recommended to first cut
the meat or fish into small pieces of 1 to 2 cm.
The stone stocks naturally the heat. So you can disconnect the appliance 10 minutes
before the end of the grilling.
It is recommended to remove the rests of food from the stone during the grilling (with a
wooden spatula). Once the food is dry, it becomes more difficult to remove it.
Cut the meat into small pieces. You thus reduce the cooking time. Chop the crude meat
and serve it on a plate or a wooden board. Your guests can then choose the quantity of
meat they wish and grill it on the grill plate.
You can grill toasts in the raclette pans, cook fruit through, fry eggs or potatoes and many
other things.
You may serve the grilled meat with different sauces, salad...
PANCAKE PLATE
Prepare pancake dough using your usual recipe.
Once you have made your pancake dough, preheat your appliance on the medium
heating position.
When the appliance reaches the right temperature, and before you begin baking your
pancakes, pour a small quantity of oil on the pancake spaces to prevent your pancakes
from burning or sticking to the plate. If necessary, repeat this operation while in use.
Pour the amount of dough that corresponds to the circles on the plate.
Warning! Do not pour too much dough because it might spill over the plate.
Turn over the pancakes with a plastic or wooden spatula. Do not use metallic utensils that
could damage the plate.
According to your taste, you can garnish your pancakes with salty or sweet ingredients,
warm or cold ones... Let the choice be yours.
If necessary, you can adapt (increase or decrease) the temperature of the appliance
during use.
Once your pancakes are ready, turn the thermostat to "MIN" and unplug the appliance.
RACLETTE
Raclette is a typical Swiss dish. You can obtain a good raclette by using the original
raclette cheese. Take about 150-250 grams for each person. Cut the cheese into slices
(more or less 2 mm thick).
Prepare potatoes in their skin, which you will put into a covered bowl or on the grill, in
order to keep them warm.
Put the raclette-grill in the middle of the table.
Put the cheese into the raclette pans and place them under the heating tube. The
cheese will melt after 3 to 4 minutes.
As soon as the cheese has melted and taken a brownish-golden colour, you can serve it
as it is on the plate or spread it out on the potatoes in their skin. Add some freshly ground
black pepper.
Raclette is served with raw ham or "Bündner" meat, little onions and pickles, as well as a
dry wine.
