i)
When distilling alcohol note that harmful methyl
alcohol appears before ethyl alcohol. Dispose of the
first 100 ml of alcohol obtained by the device. Ethyl
alcohol is obtained by distillation at 90-95°C.
4. Use guidelines
The distiller is designed for the distillation of different types
of liquids.
The user is liable for any damage resulting from non-
intended use of the device!
PLEASE NOTE! Device is used for distilling of water,
oils and other chemical compounds. This device is
not a registered distillery.

4.1 Device description

The RCAD20 and RCAD30 models have a similar
construction to the RCAD30C model. When assembling
and using them, please refer to the descriptions of the
RCAD30C model.

4.2 Preparing for use

Before operating the device, prepare feed/mashing.
Assembling the device
RCAD 10
a)
Fit the mashing pot gasket from the inside of the pot
edge. The gasket should not be stretched
When using a baffle with openings, first fit the gasket
on the baffle (put the gasket on the outer edge of
the baffle) and then place the baffle horizontally
inside the pot.
b)
Put cover on the pot.
c)
Fit the gasket on the distillate outlet pipe connection.
d)
Fit the distillate outlet pipe to the connection and
use the clamp on the connection point of these two
parts.
e)
Screw the thermometer in the steam feed pipe to
cooling column.
f)
Connect cooling water outlet pipe to the cooling
column.
g)
Connect cooling water outlet pipe to the distillate
outlet pipe.
h)
Connect water pump to the cooling water outlet
pipe (pump in user's scope of supply)
RCAD30C
a)
Fit the gasket to the edge of the pot.
b)
Put the pot cover on the pot and secure the
connection with clamps on the pot cover.
c)
Fit the gasket on the connection in the pot cover
d)
Remove
precooling
column
from
pot
cover
connection. Use the clamp to secure the connection.
c)
Fit the gasket on the connection on the side of
precooling chamber.
d)
Attach main cooling column on the connection of
precooling column. Use the clamp to secure the
connection.
e)
Fit gaskets to openings for 3 valves: at the top of the
cooling column, at the bottom of the cooling column
as well as on the pot cover.
f)
Screw the thermometer in the middle opening of the
cooling column.
f)
Screw in lever controlled valves: in the top opening
of the cooling column as well as in the bottom
opening on the cooling column.
g)
Screw valve with pipe in the opening of the pot
cover.
i)
Attach the distillate outlet pipe to the bottom part of
the main cooling column.
j)
Connect cooling water outlet pipe to the bottom
part of the main cooling column.
k)
Connect cooling water outlet pipe to the top part of
the main cooling column.
l)
Connect water pump to the cooling water pipe inlet
(pump in user's scope of supply)
4.3 Device use
Thermometer readings can be used to evaluate the
distillation status. Water temperature during distillation will
rise to 100°, while wine temperature will rise to 90-95°.
Rev. 23.07.2018
When the thermometer on the device approaches 100°,
it indicates that the distillation process is coming to an
end. If the distillation is continued after the temperature
rises above 95°, the resulting liquid will feature lower
alcohol content. When the temperature reaches 98-100°,
it indicates that the resulting liquid is longer contains any
alcohol.
Distillation
a)
Put mashing into the pot of the device.
b)
Alternatively place filtering cloth on the baffle placed
on the pot and then put ceramic filtering balls to
the precooling chamber / settler (not applicable for
RCAD10).
c)
Assemble the entire device.
d)
Place the device on a heating surface (gas burner,
electric stove or other heat source capable of
delivering the temperature to the device ensuring
its proper operation) then start heating the feed/
mashing.
Additionally, for RCAD30C, RCAD30, RCAD20:
The valve with the fermentation tube on the pot
cover must be closed.
The valve located on the top of the precooling
column must be open.
The valve located on the bottom of the precooling
column must be closed.
e)
Immerse the pump along with the tip of inlet pipe
in cold water but start pumping cold water only if
the thermometer on the device indicates 80 °C.
The tip of the outlet pipe can be directed to the
same container with the water in which the pump
is immersed along with the water inlet, but when
the cooling water temperature rises to 45 °C, water
should be replaced with a cooler one.
f)
Alcohol will start to flow when the temperature
indicated by the thermometer is be around 90 °C. It
is necessary to dispose of the first 100 ml of distillate.
This 100 ml of distillate is harmful methyl alcohol.
Additionally, for RCAD30C, RCAD30, RCAD20:
10 minutes of the moment the distillate starts to flow from
the device:
Close the valve located at the top of the pre-cooling
column.
Open the valve located at the bottom of the pre-
cooling column.
g)
Upon completion of distillation, turn off the heat
source providing the heat to the device, let the
device to cool down, dispose of the feed / mashing
and wash the entire device.
The charge drain tube in RCAD30C model can be set in two
positions, as needed:
A
B
Rev. 23.07.2018
A.
Draining water and mashing
B.
Filling water
Mashing fermentation using RCAD30C.
The device can be used for fermentation (preparation of
feed/mashing). In order to do it:
a)
Put the ingredients for alcohol distillation mashing
inside the device.
b)
Cover the pot with its cover.
c)
Cover the opening in the pot cover/precooling
column connection (3).
d)
Open the single-acting valve (1).
e)
Add some water to the fermentation pipe (2).

4.4 Cleaning and maintenance

Prior to cleaning or maintenance of the device, let
the device cool down to avoid burns.
Replace annually the ceramic filtering balls. Wash the
device after each use.
At the end of each distillation, clean the entire device
with a non-abrasive, mild cleaning agent designed to
clean surfaces in contact with food and then wipe the
device dry with a soft cloth.
It is recommended to rinse the inside of the cooling
column (precooling column and main column) with
a mixture of hot water and a mild cleaning agent
designed to clean the surfaces in contact with food,
and then rinse the device several times using only
hot water.
Do not use baking soda to clean the device because
it can cause discoloration or damage to the metal.
Store the unit in a dry, cool place, free from moisture
and direct exposure to sunlight.
In the event of a frost hazard, it is necessary to
empty, clean and dry the device.
