STEAM FUNCTION AND CAPPUCCINO
PREPARATION
To prepare a cappuccino, or to heat up any other beverage, press button (26) Fig. 2 and wait until warning light
(20), stops blinking and stays on. During the heating phase you will hear a slight periodic noise of the internal
mechanisms that is absolutely normal, and a small amount of steam may come out. Place a recipient under the
steam spout and open the tap slightly in an anti-clockwise direction (6): a little water will come out first, immedi-
ately followed by a strong jet of steam. Close the tap (6) in order to interrupt the jet of steam and immerse the
maxi-cappuccino device (5a) in the jug of milk to be whipped or other liquid to be heated.
WARNING: the steam issued by the steam spout is very hot and may cause burns.
Open the steam tap again slowly and heat the liquid with alternating up/down movements until obtaining the
desired result.
When the liquid reaches the desired temperature, close the tap and clean the spout immediately with a damp cloth.
WARNING: the spout is very hot after supplying steam: risk of burns!
When the steam supply is over, disable the function by pressing button (26) Fig. 2, and the light (20) will begin
to flash twice as fast until the temperature has returned to the optimal coffee making level. In order to acceler-
ate the cooling process, just dispense hot water from the steam spout by opening tap (6), after having placed a
recipient underneath it.
Coffee Grounds Collection Tray (1) and Drip Tray (2)
The machine can dispense up to 24 cups of coffee, after which the warning light (19) will indicate the need to empty
the coffee grounds collection tray (1). Normal machine functions are disabled in this condition. Proceed as follows:
switch the machine off by pressing button (22) without unplugging it, slide out the drip tray and empty it. Open
the service compartment (12), after having turned the steam spout (5) in an anti-clockwise direction by grasping
the plastic cappuccino maker (5a), and then remove the coffee grounds tray (1) in order to empty it. Replace the
tray, exercising a slight pressure on it, and close the service compartment. Replace the drip tray and switch the
machine back on. We recommend carrying out this cleaning operation without necessarily waiting for the light (19)
to come on. You should also empty the drip tray every time the float (15) emerges from the grille (3).
OPERATING INFORMATION
If the service compartment is open, or the coffee brewer unit or coffee grounds collection tray are not properly
inserted, the warning light (19) Fig. 2 will switch on and the machine will be automatically disabled, meaning that
it will not be possible to dispense coffee, hot water or steam. Switch the machine off by pressing button (22),
resolve the problem and switch the appliance back on: the light (19) will now be switched off.
Electronic Coffee Grinder Control
As soon as the coffee beam container is empty, the grinder stops and the warning light (19) goes on. Switch the
machine off by pressing button (22), refill the coffee bean container and switch the machine back on.
Electronic Pump Control
The machine comes to an automatic stop as soon as the water reservoir becomes empty. Warning light (19) lights
up. Switch off the appliance by pressing button (22), remove the plug from the socket and extract the water tank;
refill it, refit it onto the machine and switch the appliance back on. A self-cleaning cycle will then be run.
Electronic Temperature Control (safety thermostat and protection against overheating).
This feature constantly controls that the right temperature is in place for making coffee, hot water or steam. Coffee
