SAFETY RULES DURING OPERATION.
CHAINSAW ON THE EXTENSION POLE
• Always work with the complete and fully operational tool.
• Always check the locking mechanisms.
• To reduce the risk of injuries from falling branches, do not saw
standing directly under the tree.
• When sawing, the chainsaw should be held at an angle not greater
than 60° in relation to the ground.
• When working with the chainsaw, hold it firmly with both hands
by both handles. Keep secure body position.
• Be very careful at the end of a cut, because the chainsaw having
no support in a workpiece falls down due to its inertia, which may
cause injuries.
• When working for a long time, the saw operator may experience
formication and numbness in fingers and hands. Stop working in
such case, because numbness reduces precision in operating the
chainsaw.
• The chainsaw heats considerably during operation. Be careful and
do not touch hot parts of the tool with unprotected parts of your
body.
• In order to reduce the risk of injuries due to loss of control, do not
lower the working tool.
• Only one person can operate the chainsaw at a time. All other
people should stay away from working area of the chainsaw.
Especially children and animals should be away from working
area.
• Children and juveniles cannot operate the chainsaw. The chainsaw
can be operated by adults only, who know how to handle it. When
the chainsaw is made available, this instruction manual should
also be included.
• Stop working with the chainsaw with first signs of fatigue.
• Move the chainsaw away from the workpiece only when the
sawing chain is working.
• Long workpiece should be properly secured.
• On uneven, sloping terrain proceed with your work when facing
upwards.
• When the chain is pinched when cutting with the tip of the bar, the
saw may recoil towards operator. Therefore, cut with the straight
part of the chain whenever possible. Then, in case of pinching, the
recoil effect changes direction away from the operator.
• Be very careful when cutting wood, which is prone to splitting.
Cut off pieces of wood can be flung in any direction (risk of body
injury).
• Only trained people should cut tree branches!
An uncontrolled fall of a tree branch constitutes a risk of body
injuries!
• Do not cut with the tip of the guide bar (risk of recoil).
• Do not operate the chainsaw when standing on a ladder, tree,
trunk and scaffolding.
• Pay special attention to branches under strain. Do not cut
branches, which hang freely from below.
• Always stand to the side of the predicted fall line of the tree that
is to be cut.
• When a tree is felled, there is a risk that branches of the tree, or
trees in proximity, will break and fall. Be very careful, otherwise
body injuries may occur.
• On a sloped terrain the operator should stay on an upper part of
the slope with respect to the tree being cut, never lower.
• Watch out for logs that may roll down towards you. Jump away!
• Do not cut trees in conditions of limited visibility due to fog, snow
or rain fall.
• Do not start and continue to cut with the top of the chain guide
bar.
• Always start cutting with the chainsaw previously switched on.
• Remember that the cutting element can rotate for some time,
after the engine is switched off.
• Do not cut more than one branch at a time. When cutting off,
watch out for surrounding branches.
• If the diameter of a branch is greater than 10 cm, make an undercut
first, and then a cut in the distance of 20 cm from the first cut.
• The tool is not isolated against electric shocks. In order to reduce
the risk of electric shock, do not use the tool near any conduits or
cables, which may conduct electricity.
• Do not trim the trees near power lines. It should be remembered
that during moist days, moist/wet trees growing into power lines
may conduct electricity and there is the risk of electric shock.
• A safe distance of at least 15 m should be maintained between the
tip of the chainsaw and a power line.
SAFETY RULES DURING OPERATION.
PETROL STRIMMER.
• Do not operate the strimmer wearing sandals or barefoot.
• When standing on a sloped terrain always make sure you stand
firmly on the ground.
• Walk, never run.
• Mow only crosswise a slope, never up or down.
• Be very careful when changing direction of mowing.
• Switch off the strimmer when carrying.
• Switch off the engine, if the petrol strimmer is to be tilted, when it
is carried and handled.
• Do not use the strimmer with damaged guards, housing or
without guards.
• Do not install cutting elements inconsistent with recommendations
of the manufacturer.
• Switch on the motor according to the instruction manual, making
sure your feet are away from the sawing element.
• Be careful not to cut yourself with the blade for cutting string
length adjustment.
• Make sure the ventilation holes are free from impurities.
• Never keep your hands or feet close to rotating parts.
• Stop working with the tool with the first signs of fatigue.
• When working with the strimmer, always hold it with both hands.
• Never place a hot strimmer on dry grass.
• The petrol strimmer heats considerably during operation. Be
careful and do not touch hot parts of the tool with unprotected
parts of your body.
• When working with the strimmer, maintain the minimum distance
of 15 m from bystanders.
• Work only in daylight or in well illuminated places.
• Switch off the tool:
– Whenever you go away from the tool;
– Before checking, cleaning or repairing the tool;
– Once hit with a foreign object. Check the tool for damages and
repair it if necessary, before the work is continued.
– If the strimmer begins to vibrate excessively (switch it off and
find a cause).
SAFETY RULES FOR MAINTENANCE AND REPAIRS
• The tool should be maintained on a regular basis.
• Do not modify the tool in any way.
• Check the fuel filler plug for tightness.
• Only authorised people should repair the tool.
• Use only spare parts recommended by the manufacturer.
• Switch off the engine before cleaning, repair or maintenance
works.
• Each time when your work is completed, thoroughly clean the
tool as well as personal protection equipment and maintain
sensitive components.
