A.
Preparing air riveter
1) Follow the steps below to install the required tie rod
a. Unscrew the locking nut (41) by means of the two
supplied wrenches (80 and 81), and remove it from the air
riveter along with the anvil (40).
b. Fit the locking pin (83) into the hole and exert some
pressure inwards, to unscrew the tie rod (42), and remove
it.
c. Use the locking pin (83) to keep the clutch behind, and
screw in the tie rod of the required size, until it touches
the bottom. Release the clutch and swing the tie rod until
a click is heard.
d. Assemble the proper anvil and the locking nut (40 and
41). Screw in the locking nut by means of the two
supplied wrenches (80 and 81).

2) Adjusting stroke
– Loosen the two Allen screws (54, Figure 2-A) of the frame
head (47).
– Rotate the frame head (47, Figures 2-A and 2-B) to obtain
the required stroke. The stroke will be reduced if the pin is
rotated clockwise and vice versa.
– Adjust the pin according to the graduated scale shown in
Detail A of Figure 2. Each turn corresponds to an
adjustment of 1.5 mm.
– Screw in the two Allen screws (54) of the frame head (47).

Caution!
– Misadjustment of the tool stroke might result in defective
tightening of the tools and cause the tie rod to break.
– If small rivets are used (M4 – M5 – M6), the graduated
scale should be set to a stroke of 2 mm before using the air
riveter. Do not use the air riveter immediately, setting the
stroke to 7 mm to pull the rivet. This prevents the rod from
breaking.
– To avoid damaging the air riveter, each stroke adjustment
should lie within the range between the red lines of the
graduated scale - that is, between 2 mm and 7 mm.
B. Using air riveter
– Place, and slightly press, the rivet onto the threaded part of
the tie rod. The rivet will be automatically screwed in.
– Pressing button A will allow the rivet to be installed onto the
workpiece.
– Pressing button B will allow the rivet to be unscrewed from
the tie rod.
