Rinsing the steam generator
After every 10 ironing sessions, proceed as descri-
bed on page 6.
PROBLEM
The appliance does not come on.
Steam comes out of the bottom of the
appliance
Water leaks out from the holes in the
bottom of the sole plate.
Brown coloured fluid leaks from the
sole plate.
The first time the appliance is turned on,
you notice smoke
The appliance emits an intermittent
noise associated with vibrations.
The appliance emits a continuous noise
associated with vibrations.
Disposal
In compliance with European directive 2002/96/EC,
the appliance must not be disposed of with household
waste, but taken to an authorised waste separation and
recycling centre.
CAUSE
The appliance is not plugged into a
mains socket.
The maximum pressure safety system
has tripped.
The thermostat dial on the iron is not in
the sector shown in fig. 7.
Water has condensed inside the tubes
because steam is being used for the first
time, or has not been used for some
time.
The ironing system is positioned on an
unstable and/or sloping surface.
Chemical water softeners or additives
have been poured into the water tank or
steam generator.
Some parts have been treated with
sealer/lubricant which evaporates the
first time the iron heats up.
Water is being pumped into the steam
generator.

Troubleshooting
REMEDY
Make sure the appliance is correctly
connected and press the iron and steam
generator buttons.
Turn the appliance off immediately
and contact an authorised De'Longhi
Customer Services.
Position the thermostat dial on the iron
in the steam sector shown in fig. 7.
Press the steam button several times
away from the ironing board. This will
eliminate cold water from the steam
circuit.
Rest the ironing system on a stable flat
surface.
Never pour products into the water tank
(see our tips in the quick guide). Clean
the sole plate with a damp cloth.
This is normal and will stop when you
have used the iron a few times.
This is completely normal.
Unplug the system from the mains
and contact an authorised De'Longhi
Customer Services.
