Maintenance
Danger! Risk of death or injury from electric
shock. Before working with electrical devices,
always disconnect the device from the mains
(all connections) first.
Every 6 months:
Check operating pressures, fill the heating or solar circuit if
necessary (see installation/operating instructions for "Solar
station").
Instructing the system operator / Maintenance of the system/device
Train the system operator on:
•
Correct operation and the functions of the system/device
•
The correct and most efficient temperature setting(s)
•
The necessity of regular maintenance
•
The maintenance advice opposite
Provide the system user with these installation and operating
instructions for safekeeping.
Draining the heating circuit
Warning! Risk of scalding from hot water in
the pipes. Maximum temperature of the pipes
during filling, leak testing or installation-/
maintenance work should be 35°C. Allow the
installation time to cool if necessary.
Switch the heating/auxiliary heating off and
wait until the water has cooled.
Draining the domestic hot water area
Drain the domestic hot water area using the connection to
the protective anode (1.93) with a standard suction pump.
Draining the solar circuit
Do not allow the solar fluid to pollute the
environment. Dispose of any old solar fluid in
accordance with the manufacturer's instruc-
tions.
V03–03.2009
In areas with very hard water, maintenance
work may be needed more frequently.
Annually:
Check whether the magnesium anode/external current anode
is working properly.
Check safety valves in accordance with the installation/oper-
ating instructions for "Safety valve".
Check the expansion vessel in accordance with the installa-
tion/operating instructions for "Expansion vessel".
To avoid damage to the surface of the stor-
age cylinder, only clean the external casing
with a damp cloth; never use cleaners con-
taining sand or abrasive materials, or solvent
cleaning agent (nitro etc.).
Switch off all electrical devices in the heating circuit and
disconnect them from the mains.
Drain the heating circuit in accordance with the installation/
operating instructions from the boiler manufacturer.
Empty the solar circuit in accordance with the installation/op-
erating instructions for the "Solar station".
Monitor the system when it is switched on after maintenance/
