8 Recommissioning the Inverter
12. Turn the DC load-break switch of the inverter to
position I. If available, switch on the external DC
switch.
13. Switch on the circuit breaker of all 3 line conductors.
14. If a multifunction relay is used, reconnect the supply voltage to the load.
☑ All 3 LEDs start to glow and the start-up phase begins. The start-up phase may take
several minutes.
☑ The green LED is glowing. If applicable, the display alternates between the firmware
version, the serial number of the inverter, the NetID, the configured country data set and
the display language.
15. Perform the respective measures indicated when the following LED status appears:

Green LED is
flashing
The red LED is
glowing and an
error and event
message appear
in the display.
16. Detect the inverter with the new serial number using a communication product.
17. If the inverter is registered in Sunny Portal, replace the inverter in Sunny Portal (see installation
manual "Replacement of SMA Devices in Systems with Communication Products" at
www.SMA-Solar.com). In doing so, the inverter is registered with its new serial number.
Furthermore, the total yield value (E-Total) that has been set to 0 after replacing the OCS is
transferred to the new serial number and re-used in Sunny Portal.
18. If the inverter is not registered in Sunny Portal, the inverter's total yield (E-Total) that has been
set to 0 after replacing the OCS can be adjusted using Sunny Explorer. To set the total yield,
select Settings > AC side > Measured values > Set total yield.
19. Enter the noted parameters back into the inverter.
20. Perform the VAC test (see Section 9, page 21).

Cause
The DC input voltage may still be
too low or the inverter is monitoring
the utility grid.
The inverter has detected an error.

Measures
Wait that the DC input voltage is suf-
ficiently high and the grid-connec-
tion conditions are met. Then the in-
verter will start operation automati-
cally.
Eliminate the error (see the inverter
manual).
