FUNCTIONS
1.
Connect one end of the low-pressure hose (blue) with the hose connection (blue) and the other end
with the low-pressure coupling (blue).
2.
Connect one end of the high-pressure hose (red) with the hose connection (red) and the other end
with the high-pressure coupling (red).
3.
The coupling valves installed on both couplings of the high and low pressure, control the flow to the
dial gauges. Close both valves on the couplings by turning counter-clockwise.
4.
The red high-pressure gauge is connected to the line that is connected to the compressor outlet. The
red high-pressure coupling on R134A air conditioning systems is standardised, this does not fit on the
blue service connection in the vehicle.
5.
The blue low-pressure gauge is connected to the line that is connected to the compressor inlet. The
blue low-pressure coupling on R134A air conditioning systems is standardised, this does not fit on the
red service connection in the vehicle.
6.
The low-pressure and high-pressure valves (selector valve) control the flow of refrigerant to and from
the yellow hose. If no service device is present, before connecting to the vehicle, the high and low-
pressure valve (selector valves) must be closed on the dial gauge holder by turning them clockwise.
7.
The state of the refrigerant can be controlled through the viewing window.
8.
The yellow pressure hose permits a connection to the refrigerant extractor (service device).
9.
In combination with a service device, the yellow pressure hose is required for evacuating and charging
of R134A air conditioning systems.
10. General instructions for the maintenance of the air conditioning system can be found in the indications
of the service device. Specific procedures for the individual system and model types can be found in
the manual for air conditioner maintenance of the vehicle manufacturer.
OPERATION
Note: the following abbreviations are used in these operating instructions:
HP means High-Pressure
CW means Clockwise
Note: procedures such as charging of refrigerant and the supply of lubricant are not included in the
instructions.
VALVE OPERATION
Selector valve operation:
Coupling valve operation:
WARNING: to avoid serious injuries:
During installation and use, wear a tested safety glasses and thick work gloves.
Never open the selector valve unless you are instructed to do so otherwise
refrigerant will escape, the air conditioning system will be contaminated and
dangerous explosions of refrigerant under pressure may occur.
Use only in well ventilated rooms.
Keep the pressure gauges and hoses away from moving engine parts.
Before connecting the pressure gauge, switch off the vehicle engine and air
conditioning system.
The following procedure may only be carried out by a certified technician for
refrigerant recycling and recycling procedures, as described above.
