C FILLING
11 Remove the carafe from the rest.
12 Lift the lid off the reservoir.
13 Fill the reservoir with the exact amount of water required.
14 Replace the reservoir lid.
15 The arrow B on the lid must point towards the appliance.
16 Alternatively, you may lift the reservoir off the appliance, fill it in the kitchen, and carry it back
to the appliance.
17 If you do this, make sure that the reservoir is in place, and the catches on top of the reservoir
are hooked over the tabs in the body of the appliance, before you proceed.
18 Press the lid lock to open the lid.
19 Open up a #4 paper filter, and put it into the filter holder.
20 Put 6g (1 rounded teaspoon) of filter-ground coffee into the filter for each cup of water.
21 Close the lid, and press down to lock it.
22 Replace the carafe on the rest.
C SWITCHING ON
23 Put the plug into the power socket.
24 The appliance will beep.
25 The power light will glow as long as the appliance is connected to the electricity supply.
26 Press and release the button.
27 Shortly afterwards, coffee will start to drip into the carafe.
, The coffee grounds will retain water, so the amount of liquid in the carafe will be slightly less
than the amount of water in the reservoir.
C STATUS LIGHT
28 The status light will change colour to show how fresh the coffee is.

29 About 40 minutes after brewing finishes, the appliance will shut down.
30 After about 40 minutes, chemical changes will affect the taste of the coffee.
31 Unplug, and let the appliance and carafe cool down fully before cleaning, or for about 10
minutes before refilling.
C A QUICK CUP
32 You can remove the carafe at any time. To prevent the filter holder overflowing, replace the
carafe on the hotplate within about 20 seconds.
C CARE AND MAINTENANCE
33 Unplug the appliance and let it cool.
34 Press the lid lock to open the lid.
35 Tip the contents of the filter holder into the bin.
36 Hand wash the carafe and filter holder.
