NOTICE
This kit can be mounted on two different style gear
housings. A shaft collar (B) included in this kit, may be
required to properly mount the trimmer head. Failure to
install shaft collar will cause the upper plate (C) to bind.
Refer to the assembly instructions below to identify shaft
collar assembly.
1. Check type of gear housing assembly on unit.
• Type A gear housings with black bearing seal do not
require the shaft collar.
• Type B gear housings with silver bearing seal, install
shaft collar (B) on splined shaft.
2. Install the supplied upper adapter plate, with 25 mm arbor
(D), onto trimmer shaft.
3. Seat the trimmer head (E) onto 25 mm arbor of upper
plate.
4. Install large washer (F) to underside of trimmer head.
5. Lock the drive shaft using locking tool supplied with
trimmer.
6. Install and tighten nut (G) securely counter-clockwise
(CCW) and install a new split pin (H).
