4.- SAFETY SYSTEMS
The machine is fitted with the following electrical and mechanical safety devices (fig.1):
A) Blade protection hood: The machine can be used only if the blade protection
hood, which prevents accidental contact with the blade, is fitted.
B) Protection against overheating: The blade motor is fitted with protection
against overheating. If this protective system is triggered, wait a few minutes for
the blade to cool down and then repeat machine starting operations.
C)
Emergency button: This allows the machine to be stopped in an emergency,
and consists in a red self-retaining mushroom button. If the button is pressed, it
must be reset by rotating it in a clockwise direction, then repeating the machine
start operations described in section E-8 / E-13. (fig .12/13).
D) Safety electric device: does not allow the wheels to lift up from under the
working table during cutting operations.

C. TECHNICAL CHARACTERISTICS
1.- NOISE EMISSION
The level noise produced by the machine when running idle is lower than 70 dB (A). The
following factors can increase the effective level of exposure to noise emissions:
- Duration of exposure
- Machines running in the vicinity
- Type and characteristics of premises
- Type and characteristics of materials to be cut
- Use of unsuitable hearing protection devices.
Noise emissions can be limited by
- Reducing forward cutting speed
- Always using diamond blades in good condition
- Using silenced blades
It is obligatory for the employer to adopt the following precautions
- Limit exposure times.
- Provide suitable individual protection equipment, also instructing operators in its
use. Subject operators assigned to the machine to periodic health checks.
NOTE: The performance of numerous activities associated with the use of the
machine can compromise the physical conditions of the operator and can also cause
tiredness. For example, if the operator is involved in other work activities in which
there is exposure to noise the overall risk is greater and health is safeguarded to a
lesser extent. Prolonged exposure above the level of 85 Db (A) can cause
disturbances to health. The use of hearing protection equipment is recommended.

D. INSTALLATION
1.- SAFETY PRECAUTIONS FOR INSTALLATION
PERSONNEL REQUISITES
Installation, assembly and electrical connections must be carried out by the
manufacturer's personnel or by qualified personnel. Qualified personnel are defined as
persons who have followed training and specialization courses, and have experience in
the installation, setting-up and maintenance of production machines in accordance with
correct working practices.
REQUISITES FOR ROOM IN WHICH MACHINE IS TO BE INSTALLED
The work environment must comply with the requisites of Directive 89/654/EEC.
The surface on which the machine is to be placed must be flat and horizontal, stable, and
adequately resistant for the weight to be supported.
A free space of al least one metre must be left around the machine.
Workplace floors must be free from holes and dangerous projections, and must not be
slippery.
REQUISITE FOR WORK AREA
In accordance with requisites for the illumination of work environments, the room in
which the machine is installed must not have areas shadow, must not have troublesome
dazzle, and must not have dangerous stroboscopic effects. Lighting equipment must be
periodically checked and kept in an efficient condition.
Eliminate all potential risks from the work area (such as extraneous objects that are not
suitable secured).
GENERAL REQUISITES
Electrical power cables and compressed air pipes must be suitably protected and must
not present obstacles for the operator.
2.- LIFTING AND MOVING MACHINE
• Check that the equipment and accessories used to lift the machine (belts,
cables, hooks) are capable of supporting the weight of the machine as
indicated on the identification plate.
• Avoid transporting suspended loads above zones in which the possible fall
of the load could constitute a hazard. It is forbidden for persons to remain
or transit beneath suspended loads.
• Bring the machine down onto the floor with the greatest care, avoiding
sudden drops and hazardous jerks.
The machine is delivered packing in a transparent and flexible plastic (polythene) A
(fig.5-A).
For transport, some parts of the machine are disassembled: extension roller tables,
optional adjustable roller unit, service spanner.
Before lifting the machine the carriage should be positioned on the left-hand side of the
travel rail and then locked in place with wooden spacer fig.5-B), thereby balancing the
load and preventing carriage movement.
Lift the machine with a forklift truck (fig.5-C), placing the forks beneath the water tank.
• After positioning the machine the wooden spacer between the carriage
and the worktable must be removed (fig.5). To remove the spacer,
inserted to prevent carriage movements during transport, unscrew the
screw securing the spacer to the worktable.
