Operating without external probe:
The temperature controller shows and controls the mantle temperature. This
temperature is slightly higher than the sample temperature.
This operating mode is appropriate when there's no need of a very accurate
control of the sample temperature.
1. Place the «bridge connector» (see Fig. 2). It normally comes placed by
default.
2. Select the working temperature.
Operating with external probe:
The temperature controller shows and controls the probe temperature im-
mersed in the sample. This allows an accurate control of the temperature at
which the sample is being treated.
- The sample liquid must be compatible with the probe
stainless steel.
- Do not submerge the probe in hard acids.
This operating mode is appropriate when you need a very accurate control of
the sample temperature.
1. Extract the «bridge connector» (see Fig. 2) and connect the external probe
(see Fig. 3).
2. Fix the probe with the help of a bar and a clamp. Then submerge it about
2 cm in the sample.
3. Select the working temperature.
Be sure that the probe is immersed in the fl ask liquid
before switching the mantle on.
If not, the sample temperature will rise in an uncon-
