instructions. Failure to follow the warnings and instructions
may result in electric shock, fi re and/or serious injury. Save

SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS MEASURING INSTRUMENT
Never make measurement on a circuit in which voltage over
600 V exists. Use only leads rated 600 V or better.
Disconnect the test leads from the instrument for current
measurement.
Keep fi ngers away from test tips during measurements.
To reduce the risk of electric shock for Continuity
measurements, never use the meter on an energized circuit.
Make sure a capacitor is fully discharged before touching or
attempting to make a measurement.
Do not attempt to make measurement in the presence of
fl ammablegasses. Otherwise, the use of the instrument may
cause sparking, which can lead to an explosion.
Never attempt to use the instrument if its surface or your hand
is wet.
Do not exceed the maximum allowable input of any measuring
range.
Only test on unenergized circuits unless absolutely necessary.
Check tool functionality on a known circuit fi rst. Never
assume tool is working. Assume circuits are live until they
can be proven de-energized.
Do not ground yourself while measuring. Avoid body contact
with earthed or grounded sur-faces such as pipes, radiators,
ranges and refrigerators.
Never remove the case or battery cover during a measurement.
This instrument is to be used only in its intended applications or
conditions. Otherwise, the instrument's safety functions may
not work, resulting in serious personal injury and instrument
damage.
To reduce the risk of injury from shock and arc blasts, always
wear personal protective equipment where live conductors are
exposed.
Never attempt to make measurement if any abnormal
conditions, such as broken case and exposed metal parts are
found on the instrument.
Do not install substitute parts or make any modifi cation to the
instrument. For repair or re-calibration, return the tool to a
factory Service/Sales Support Branch or authorized service
station.
Only use Milwaukee test leads with the Milwaukee Electrical
Tester. Inspect test leads before each use. Use Electrical Tester
to run a continuity test
Measurement categories and their signifi cance according
to IEC 61010-1:CAT IV: Measurements at the source of low
voltage: counter main supply, primary overcurrent. For your
present measuring instrument is valid the measuring category
and associated maximum rated voltage, eg. CAT IV, which are
printed on the device.

SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS BATTERY
This tool is designed to be powered by 2 AAA batteries
properly inserted into the instrument. Do not attempt to use
with any other voltage or power supply.
Do not leave batteries within the reach of children.
Do not mix new and used batteries. Do not mix brands (or
types within brands) of batteries.
Do not mix rechargeable and non-recharge-able batteries.
Install batteries according to polarity (+ / –) diagrams.
Properly dispose of used batteries immediately.
Battery acid may leak from damaged batteries under extreme
load or extreme temperatures. In case of contact with battery
acid wash it off immediately with soap and water. In case of eye
contact rinse thoroughly for at least 10 minutes and
immediately seek medical attention.
This appliance is not intended for use by persons (including
children) with limited physical, sensory or mental capabilities or
insuffi cient experience and/or knowledge unless they are
supervised by a person who is responsible for their safety or
have been instructed by them in the safe use of the tool.
Children should be supervised in order to ensure that they do
not play with the tool.
SPECIFIED CONDITIONS OF USE
The Measuring Instrument can be used for following
measurements: Voltage AC, Voltage DC, Continuity. This
instrument may only use for measuring the previously
indicated measurements.
MAKING A MEASUREMENT
Auto-Function
The tester is designed to auto range at all times. With Auto
Ranging, the tool will automatically select the range with the
best resolution. The Tester automatically switches from
Voltage AC/DC measurement to Continuity when no voltage
is present. The tool will automatically identify VAC from VDC
and will indicate which on the display.
Hazard Voltage Warning
If measured voltage is over AC/DC 35 V, the
Indicator
LED will be lit RED and the buzzer will sound with steady,
intermittent beeps .
Over-Range Indication
If measured voltage exceeds the measuring range (over
approximately 600V), the
and
Indicator LEDs fl ash
rapidly, alternating RED and YELLOW. The buzzer will
sound with bursts of three repeating beeps.
Auto Off Function
The tester is automatically powered off in about 10 minutes
after Power-ON is pressed, preceded by two beeps. To
continue use, press the Power-ON again after shut-off. If the
display is still blank, replace the batteries.
AC/DC Voltage
The Electrical Tester automatically identifi es AC or DC
sources and indicates the type of voltage on the LCD screen
using AC or DC .
Connect the red test lead to the VΩ terminal and the black
test lead to the COM terminal.
Connect the test leads to the circuit under test.
If voltage is present, the measurement will be displayed on
the screen, and the RED LED indicator will light with
intermittent buzzer sound when voltage higher than 35V
around.
CAUTION Readings may fl uctuate or be infl uenced in noisy
environment.
Continuity
If voltage is not present, the tester will automatically switch
to continuity test mode and provide test results indicating
whether continuity is present or not.
Connect the red test lead to the VΩ terminal and the black
test lead to the COM terminal. Short-circuit the tips of test
leads to make the indication zero. A buzzer will sound.
Connect the test leads to both end of the conductor under
test. If the resistance under test is 20 kΩ or less, the
Indicator LED will be lit YELLOW and buzzer will sound with
a continuous beep.
MAINTENANCE
Use only Milwaukee accessories and Milwaukee spare parts.
Should components need to be replaced which have not been
described, please contact one of our Milwaukee service agents
(see our list of guarantee/service addresses).
If needed, an exploded view of the tool can be ordered. Please
state the Article No. as well as the machine type printed on the
label and order the drawing at your local service agents or
directly at: Milwaukee Electric Tool, Max-Eyth-Straße 10,
D-71364 Winnenden, Germany.
SYMBOLS
Please read the instructions carefully
before starting the machine.
Do not dispose of electric tools
together with household waste
material.
Electric tools and electronic equipment
that have reached the end of their life
must be collected separately and
returned to an environmentally
compatible recycling facility.
Check with your local authority or
retailer for recycling advice and
collection point.
WARNING! To avoid electrical shock
remove test leads before opening case
or removing battery pack/ battery.
