OPTIONS
Your washing machine features several additional op-
tions that allow you to customize cycles to meet your
individual needs.
SAVE ENERGY +
This option saves energy by using cooler water while
increasing the wash and rinse times to maintain wash
performance. This feature is only available with the
Normal/Casual and Heavy Duty cycles as listed below.

STAIN TREAT
Use this option for heavily soiled loads that need
improved stain treatment. When STAIN TREAT is
selected, the wash cycle will begin with warm water
to help prevent the setting of certain types of stains.
Then, as the cycle progresses, the water will be heated to
gradually increase the water temperature to help remove
stains that require treatment at higher temperatures.
NOTE:
• Best results are obtained with smaller loads (less than 6
lbs.)
• Stain Treat is available on Normal/Casual, Heavy Duty
and Towels cycles.
SOAK
Use the Soak option to presoak garments to help
remove difficult spots or stains on fabrics. When
this option is selected, the Soak icon will become
a button with arrows to adjust the soak time. The default
soak time is 15 minutes. Use the left and right arrows to
adjust the soak time from 15 minutes up to 180 minutes.
At the end of the presoak time, the selected cycle will
begin with the same water used for the soak.
EXTRA RINSE
Use this option to select one or two extra rinses to
help ensure the complete removal of detergent or
bleach from fabrics. When this option is selected,
the Extra Rinse icon will become a button with arrows to
adjust the number of rinses. The default number of rinses
is one. Use the left and right arrows to select the desired
number of extra rinses. When zero rinses is selected, the
Extra Rinse option is deselected and the adjustment but-
ton will disappear.
NOTE:
• You cannot select the Extra Rinse option with the
DRAIN & SPIN cycle.
• If you select this option when you are using liquid
fabric softener, it is not necessary to select the fabric
softener option.
WATER PLUS
Select this option to add extra water to the wash
and rinse cycles. This option is especially useful
for extra large or bulky items. Once the washer

the cycle. Touch the Change Settings button on the
PAUSE screen followed by the Options tab on the Cycle
Settings screen, then touch the Water Plus icon. Touch
START to resume the cycle.
NOTE:
• If the machine reaches its maximum water level, the
Water Plus button will have no effect.
• You cannot select the Water Plus option in the Sanitize,
Bulky/Bedding, and Clean Washer cycle.
FABRIC SOFTENER
Fabric softener is always dispensed in the final
rinse. Select the Fabric Softener option if liquid
fabric softener is to be used with the Normal/
Casual or Heavy Duty cycles. Since this washer
is designed to save rinse water by using a jet spray rinse
system (SmartRinse
™
Duty cycles, the final rinse MUST BE CHANGED if liquid
fabric softener is to be used. Although the softener will
still be dispensed during a spray rinse, failure to select
the Fabric Softener option will result in poor fabric
softener performance.
NOTE: The Extra Rinse option will also change the final
rinse to a regular rinse. Selecting Extra Rinse will have
the same effect as selecting the Fabric Softener option.
DELAYED START
Use this feature to delay the start of the
selected cycle. Select this option, then
touch the up or down arrows to increase or
decrease the delay time by one hour. Maximum delay
time is 24 hours.
Once the desired settings, options and delay time are
set, touch the START button to start the delay time. The
TIME & STATUS screen will be displayed, and the delay
time will count down in the time display. At the end of
the delay time, the selected cycle will begin.
After four minutes, the display will be dimmed. Touch
the screen to reactivate it.
NOTE: If the START button is not touched to begin the
delay time, the display will dim after four minutes. One
minute later, the control will shut off and all settings will
be lost.
