Operation
• The grindstone must be rotating at full speed before you start grinding.
• The blade you intend to grind must be moved over the grindstone
against the direction in which the grindstone is rotating.
• Move the blade from the start of the handle to the end of the blade in a
single uniform movement in one direction without pausing.
• The blade must be pressed against the grindstone with very slight,
constant pressure, in one movement from beginning to end without
pausing. At the same time, the blade must be kept parallel to the base.
Sharpening knives
Knife edges with a special grind, e.g. bread knives, cannot be
sharpened with this sharpener.
1. Run the knife through the sharpening slots
movement (see Fig. B).
2. Repeat the process two to three times in the left and right sharpening slot to
grind both sides of the knife edge.
If the knife is very dull or there are already notches on the knife edge, proceed
as follows:
1. Use the coarse sharpening slots
2. Then pull the knife through the fine sharpening slots one to two times.
