4.2. Headphones as receiver
1.
Switch on the headphones (B7). Watch the power-on lamp (B10). If this comes on red, your radio headphones are ready to
operate.
If this lamp does not come on, you must first recharge the battery packs for the headphones.
2.
Start the automatic frequency search by pressing the tuning button (B9). During the search the power-on lamp blinks green.
The receiver searches for the strongest transmission signal and automatically performs fine tuning. All you now need to do
is listen to the sound transmission (speech or music) being adjusted. When the fine tuning of the transmitter is optimal, the
power-on lamp (B10) lights green.
3.
Then put the headphones on and set the volume (B8) to your requirements.
4.
Still wearing the headphones, move approx. 3 metres away from the transmitter. If you receive interference or other
transmitters, press the tuning button (B9) again.
5.
After use, switch the On/Off switch (B7) on the headphones to „Off".
Please note: You should now be able to move from room to room wearing the headphones without any reception interference
Should the signal break off or be disturbed, reset the reception frequency using the tuning button (B9). When receiving over
long distances, the signal becomes gradually weaker. This is indicated by an increase in background noise and the sound signal
becoming almost inaudible. Disturbances could possibly be caused by other appliances or interference. You should then select
a different frequency (A3) and repeat steps 2 to 4.
5. Recharging the battery packs
1.
The FMH 6080 set contains 2 rechargeable AA NiCd batteries which must be charged before use.
2.
First switch off the headphones (B7).
3.
Connect the battery pack charge lead of the transmitter to the charge socket (B11) on the headphones. The transmitter's
power-on lamp (A1) lights green.
4.
After about 8 hours the battery packs are fully charged. They do not reach full capacity and thereby the operating time
indicated until they have been charged three times.
N.B.: When recharging battery packs with the charge function of the transmitter you must place only rechargeable nickel-
cadmium batteries in the battery pack compartment, never conventional batteries or nickel-metal hydride battery packs!
Maintenance tip:
For optimal care of your battery packs, you should charge/discharge them fully about once a month using a charger/discharger.
We recommend the chargers made by Vivanco, e.g. the ACU 400 (Order No. 3024) or the ACS 300 (Order No. 3023). When used
regularly, these appliances ensure a very long service life for your battery packs.

5.1 Replacing the battery packs

If you discover that your battery packs can no longer be sufficiently recharged, or that the operating time of the FM headphones
is considerably reduced, the battery packs must be replaced. You can use commercially available AA cells (1.2 V).
1.
First switch off the headphones (B7).
2.
Open the battery pack compartment by simply sliding the lid across (B12).
3.
Now you can replace the battery packs. When doing so, please observe the correct polarity. The headphones can be powered
with commercially available 1.5 V batteries.
N.B.: When operating with non-rechargeable batteries the battery pack charge function must not be used, as this will damage
the appliance.
