Starting the vehicle

Before the vehicle can be started, operated or used to lift a load unit, the
driver must ensure that there is nobody in the danger zone (see "Safety
regulations for operating industrial trucks" in this chapter).
NOTICE
The vehicle may not be used to pull a trailer.
Daily checks and actions before startup
– Check the outside of the entire vehicle for any apparent damage or leakages.
– Check the battery hold-down, cable connections for damage and that they are
properly seated.
– Ensure the battery plug is seated securely.
– Check the overhead guard for damage.
– Check load-handling equipment for obvious damage such as cracks, bent or badly
worn forks.
– Check the load wheels for damage.
– Check the drive wheel for wear.
NOTICE
If the drive wheel loses traction, the wheel pressure on the supporting wheel
may need adjusting or the drive wheel may need replacing by trained service
personnel.
– Make sure the safeguard on the fork tines against lifting out or shifting is not
defective.
– Make sure that the load chains are equally tensioned.
– Make sure than all safety features are in good working order.
– Check the function of the service brake and park brake.
