Adjusting the brake cable
Braking effectiveness will be impaired if the brake cable is not adjusted
properly.
Adjustment
1.With the drive clutch lever set in the STOP position (brake is applied),
measure the brake spring collar to spring holder distance:
Specified distance: 14.0–16.0 mm (0.55–0.63 in)
2.If adjustment is necessary, loosen the lock nuts and move the brake
cable until the correct distance is obtained.
3.After the adjustment, tighten the lock nuts securely.
