10 Troubleshooting
PTZ controls are not working or are not working properly.
•
Extension cables may be damaged or are not connected properly.
Check your extension cable run.
•
If using an analog recorder (CVBS), make sure to properly con-
nect camera's RS485 cables to the recorder. Also, set the correct
PTZ protocol information such as address, baudrate, and parity in
the analog recorder (CVBS). See 8 Controlling the PTZ Camera
with an Analog DVR (CVBS), page 45 for details.
•
If using a HD analog recorder, make sure to switch the camera's
video format to be compatible with the HD analog recorder. See
5.4 Switching Between HD Analog Video Formats, page 16 for de-
tails. After changing the camera's video format to be compatible
with your HD analog recorder, disconnect the UTC controller and
directly connect the extension cable from the camera to a video in-
put on your DVR.
DVR motion detection is constantly triggering.
•
Turn off motion detection on the channel the PTZ camera is con-
nected to. DVRs use video motion detection, which means they
detect motion by looking for changes between frames (images) in
the video. If the camera is moving, the DVR will detect this as
motion.
