WARNING
Only operate the product when all operators are clear of the mechanisms.
CAUTION
Always plug the product directly into a properly grounded, three-prong receptacle. You can only achieve grounding
reliability when you use a hospital-grade receptacle. This product is equipped with a hospital-grade plug for protection
against electric shock hazard.
Before placing the product into service, make sure that these components are working properly:
1.
Plug the power cord into a properly grounded hospital-grade wall receptacle.
2.
Depress the brake pedal to make sure that the brakes hold.
3.
Raise and lower the siderails to make sure that they move smoothly and lock into position.
4.
Press each button on the inside and outside siderail control panels to make sure that each function is working
properly.
5.
Press each button on the optional hand pendant to make sure that each function is working properly.
WARNING
•
Do not remove, sit, or place any load on the cover panels to avoid the risk of possible electrical shock hazard and
product damage. Service should only be performed by qualified personnel.
•
An operator should not touch connectors and the patient simultaneously to avoid the risk of patient or operator injury.
•
Do not use the product in the presence of flammable anesthetics.
CAUTION
•
Perform preventive maintenance annually to make sure that all product features are functioning properly.
•
Maintain the cleanliness and integrity of both ground chains to minimize static build-up and discharge.
Equipping the optional nurse call communication
If your product is equipped with the optional nurse call communication, follow the setup instructions below before putting
the product into service.
1.
Plug the interface cable into the 37-pin connector in the litter frame at the head end of the product (B)
on page
1-12) and into the applicable connection (patient station, head wall, or docker station).
Note: Only connect the 37-pin connector to the Head Wall Output Configuration (B)
product Communications Tester (sold separately).
2.
Test the interface cable to verify connectivity.
3.
Plug the power cord into the wall outlet.
4.
Push in the pendant port switch and turn the switch to the ON position (90° clockwise) (A)
5.
Press the Nurse call button (see
between the product's nurse call signal and the hospital's nurse call system.
Note: A 9V battery, located in the head end of the product, powers the nurse call signal. If the product is unplugged
from a wall outlet while the nurse call pendant port switch is set to the ON position, the charge of the 9V battery will
begin to drain.
