Electrocution hazard. Always remove power to the instrument before making electrical connections.
CX5130—Power supply
The power supply unit is installed with an I/O interface. The CX5130 is supplied with 24 V DC
(–15 %/+20%) through the internal bus and the bus terminals. The dielectric strength of the power
supply unit is 500 V
. The internal bus in the terminals (K- and E-bus) transfers data only. A
rms
separate power supply is necessary for the bus terminals. The power supply must give 4 A at 24 V.
Note: Do not use the "PE" power contact for other potentials. Make sure that "PE" and "0V" (24 V system supply)
have the same potential (connected in the control cabinet). The wiring in the control cabinet must obey with EN
60204–1:2006 Protective Extra-Low Voltage (PELV). EN 60204–1:2006 section 6.4.1: b: One side of the circuit or
one point of the energy source for the circuit must be connected the protective ground conductor system.
Note: To set the CX5130 to OFF, disconnect the 24 V line first. Do not disconnect the ground. Each devices with
independently power supply that may be connected (e.g., a panel) must have the same potential as the CX5130 for
"PE" and "GND" (no potential difference). A potential difference may cause in damage to the controller and the
periphery.
To connect the power supply and to set the phase bridges correctly, refer to
Figure
4.
If the power supply unit is connected correctly and the power supply is set to ON, the two upper
LEDs in the terminal prism are green. The left LED shows the CPU supply. The right LED shows the
terminal supply. The other LEDs indicate the terminal bus status.
