d) Under abusive conditions of use, liquid may be ejected from the battery; avoid contact. If
contact accidentally occurs, flush with water. If liquid contacts eyes, additionally seek medical
help. Liquid ejected from the battery may cause irritation or burns.
e) Ensure that the switch is in the OFF position before inserting the battery. Inserting the
battery into power tools with the switch on invites trouble. Injury hazard.
3.2- Additional safety rules for Hedge Trimmers
a) Keep all parts of the body away from the cutter blade. Do not remove cut material or hold material
to be cut when blades are moving.
b) Make sure the switch is in the OFF postion and that battery is removed when clearing jammed
material. A moment of inattention while operating the tool may result in serious personal injury
c) Carry the tool by the handle with the cutter blade stopped. When transporting or storing the tool
always fit the cutting device cover. Proper handling of the tool will reduce possible personal injury
from the cutter blades
d) Hold the tool by insulated gripping surfaces only, because the cutter blade may contact hidden
wiring. Cutter blades contacting a "live" wire may make exposed metal parts of the power tool
"live" and could give the operator an electric shock.
e) Wear eye protection and gloves.
f) Never allow children or people who are not familiar with these instructions to use the machine.
g) Stop using the machine when people, in particular children or pets, are nearby or enter into the
working area. A minimum 15m distance is recommended.
h) Only use the machine in daylight or bright artificial lighting.
i) Inspect the working area before using the tool. Remove all debris and hard objects such as wires,
etc., that could cause injury or damage during operation.
j) Avoid accidental starting. Ensure the switch is in the OFF position before inserting the battery.
Keep your hands and fingers away from the switch while inserting the battery.
k) Never run the tool without the proper equipment attached, such blades or protective devices.
Use only with attachments and/or accessories supplied or recommended by the manufacturer.
l) Make sure that any ventilation holes are free from dirt. Clear any obstructions.
m) Switch off the tool when transporting to and from the working area or between two working areas.
3.3- Safety information about the charger and the battery-pack
Before using the charger and the battery, read all the instructions and cautionary markings on
charger, battery pack and tool.
1) Charger
a) Do not attempt to open or disassemble the charger. If the charger has been dropped or is
damaged in any way, stop using it and do not attempt to repair it. Return the charger for
repair to an authorized service center or a qualified person, to avoid any danger to the user; or
discard it according to local laws.
b) Protect the charger against any heat source (e.g. direct sunlight exposure, fire, heater...).
To prevent any damage to the charger.
c) Do not expose the charger to water, moisture and cold. Electric shock hazard.
d) If the power cord or the plug becomes damaged, stop suing the charger until it has been
repaired by a qualified person. If the supply cord is damaged, it must be replaced by the
manufacturer or its authorized service center, in order to avoid a hazard. Electric shock
hazard.
e) Only use the charger provided with the tool, or a same type or same model charger to
charge the battery. The use of other types of charger increases the risk of electric shock,
personal injury and damage.
