Regularly carry out a visual inspection of the unopened filtering
escape device to ensure that:
- date of expiry is not exceeded
- barrier bag is undamaged
- packaging is undamaged
- sealing tag is undamaged
Only use the filtering escape device if it is undamaged.
Open the seal by pulling the flap (fig. 1).

1. Remove the sealing band (fig. 2).
2. Open the casing (fig. 3).
3. Remove the barrier bag.
4. Check the barrier bag for damage/tears.
Open the undamaged barrier bag:
Tear the bag open at the perforation (fig. 4).

Beards, sideburns and deep scars can cause leakages. The
device is not intended for use by these persons!
1. Hold the half mask at the straps in front of mouth and nose, place
the chin in the chin cup.
2. Tie the straps behind the head.
3. Escape immediately.
