manual MS13
05-12-2006
The MS13 is fully wireless, the signal is transmitted straight through walls and ceilings and it is
suitable for outdoor use.
OPERATION
The MS13 motion detector sends radio signals to an X10 transceiver (Marmitek X10 TM13 or Marmitek X10
Alarm station). The transceiver or station then transmits these signals wirelessly via the electric cabling that is
already in your house to switch lights (or appliances) that are connected to X10 receivers on and off. The
Marmitek X10 TM13 and a Marmitek X10 CM11 computer interface can also be used to activate previously
programmed macros. The MS13 can also be programmed to detect motion both at night and during the day,
or only at night. The Marmitek X10 MS13 can also be used to detect the transition from light to dark and
vice versa.
INSTALLATION
Slide the antenna sleeve over the sensor's wire antenna. Press the sleeve into the clamp on the top of the
sensor. Insert 2 AAA batteries into the MS13's battery compartment. The cap on the front of the sensor
must be removed using tweezers or small pliers in order to open the battery compartment. Now the screw
that is locking the lid can be unscrewed. Replace the cap if the sensor is to be used outdoors.
•
After inserting the batteries it will take 30 seconds for the MS13 to become active.
•
After a signal has been transmitted the MS13 will be inactive for 10 seconds.
•
The default setting for the house-code that is transmitted is A (factory setting).
•
The default setting for the unit-code that is transmitted for motion detection is 1 (factory setting).
•
The unit-code that is transmitted for light / dark detection is always the unit-code that has been set + 1
(example: If you have the motion detection code set to A3 the code for light/dark is automatically A4).
The default setting for this function is off (factory setting).
•
When motion is detected an <on> command is transmitted.
•
When the <house/on> button is pressed once an <on> command is transmitted.
•
When the <unit/off> button is pressed once an <off> command is transmitted.
•
On transition from light to dark an <on> command is transmitted for the unit-code that has been
set +1.
•
On transition from dark to light an <off> command is transmitted for the unit-code that has been
set +1.
•
When motion is detected an <on> command is transmitted for the unit code that has been set.
•
After the last motion detection plus the set delay (factory setting 1 minute) an <off> command is
transmitted for the unit code that has been set.
