3.3. Charging the mini VISIOVAL
Open the silicon cover on the handheld unit and connect the external power supply to the mini
USB slot (Figure 4).
Note: The mini VISIOVAL will only charge the battery if the temperature is between 0°C and 40°C
(32 °F and 113 °F). Outside this temperature range, the mini VISIOVAL may continue working, but
the batteries will not charge and the battery status LED will be off.
1.
Ensure that the charger is unplugged. Inspect the power cord, the charger, and the battery.
Check that there is no damage, that no modifications have been made and that there are
no broken, used, missing, misaligned, or jammed parts. Should you notice problems, do
not use the charger until all parts have been repaired or replaced.
2.
Remove any oil, grease, or dirt on the device as described in the Maintenance section,
especially on handles and controls. This will prevent you from losing grip on the device and
will ensure proper ventilation.
3.
Check that all warning labels and stickers on the mini VISIOVAL and the A/C power supply
are intact and readable.
4.
Select the appropriate location for the A/C power supply before use. Check the following
points within the designated work area:
-
Proper lighting.
-
Flammable liquids, vapors, or combustible dusts. Should any of the above be found, do
not work in the area until all the sources have been identified and illiminated. The
charger is not explosion-proof and may generate sparks.
-
Do not use the device in wet or damp areas.
Make sure that your hands are dry, before plugging the charger into the appropriate
power source.
