Selection of the Clamping Points

The following factors on the workpiece are to be taken into account when selecting the suit-
able clamping points:
– Clamping should not be carried out on the mould partition and cleaning surfaces. Consider-
able inaccuracies may occur here.
– The GRIPP point should have a clearance of not less than approx. 4 mm from the workpiece
edge or casting radii, especially with GG 25.
– Opposite GRIPP points for force transmission should GRIPP at the same height where pos-
sible. This is important for the force flow in the workpiece.
– The adjacent GRIPP points per jaw should also have a similar clamping height. Deviations
lead to torsions in the workpiece.

Information on the Jaws

NOTE
Incorrect screw length and excessive tightening torque.
Damage to the spindle and thread breakages.
Ø Do not exceed recommended tightening torque.
Ø Only use screws of a suitable size.
The tightening torque for the clamp locking screws M12 must not exceed 75 Nm, for the jaw
screws M16 not more than 120 Nm.
The support jaws must be equipped with GRIPP elements. The tightening torque for the screw
(M10) in the universal GRIPP set must not exceed 40 Nm.
Unneeded threads must be closed with screw plugs. Screw plugs are located on the underside
of the mobile pendulum jaw.
GRIPP inserts must be recessed so that the workpiece lies on the jaws.
