Information on set-up and use of the appliance
14. For safety reasons, never place the appliance on hot surfaces, a
metal tray or a wet surface.
15. Do not place the appliance or power cord near open flames dur-
ing operation.
16. Always use the electronic kettle on a level, uncluttered and heat-
resistant surface.
17. Ensure that the power cord does not hang over the edge of the
counter top or table, since this can cause accidents, for example
if small children pull on the power cord.
18. Route the power cord so that there is no possibility of the cord
being pulled or tripped over.
19. Never wrap the power cord around the appliance.
20. Use the electronic kettle only indoors.
21. Use the appliance only for heating water. Do not use it to heat
milk or other liquids, since they will boil over when heated.
22. Never heat objects such as cans or bottles in the electronic ket-
tle.
23. Make sure that the lid of the appliance is always completely
closed, to prevent injuries due to hot splashing water.
24. Do not open the lid as long as the water is boiling, to prevent
injuries due to hot splashing water.
25. Never fill the appliance with more than 1.2 litres of water, to
prevent the water from boiling over.
26. Never switch on the appliance if there is no water in the kettle.
27. Make sure that all users, especially children, are aware of the
danger of injury due to escaping steam or hot splashing water –
danger of burns!
28. Do not move the appliance as long as it is in operation, to pre-
vent burns due to splashing water.
29. The electronic kettle features boil dry protection, which means
the appliance shuts off automatically if the heating element
becomes too hot. Allow the appliance to cool for approx. 15 min-
utes. Then fill the electronic kettle with cold water. The boil dry
protection is deactivated and the appliance is ready for opera-
tion again.
