• Using the product when the operator cannot see the case lifter and the load during
all movements.
• Using the product for handling dangerous loads such as molten metals, acids,
radioactive materials, or particularly brittle loads.
• Using the product outdoors (unprotected against adverse weather conditions) or in
a humid climate with water condensation.
• Using the product without suffi cient structural stability.
• Using the product without suffi cient surrounding space (danger of crushing).
• Using the product to lift or lower people.
• Using the product to lift or lower cases that are not safely stackable.
• Using the product to lift or lower loads that are not packed in cases.
• Uncontrolled use of this product to lift or lower cases, whose clearance area under
the case in its lowest position is less than 120 mm.
• Using the product to lift or lower fl oor rollers (for transporting cases), whose
ground clearance amounts to more than 135 mm.
• Using the product to lift or lower a load that extends beyond the forks.
• Using the product to lift or lower a load, whose center of gravity lies more than
300 mm in front of the stop for the forks or more than 350 mm in front of the front
housing of the case lifter.
• Restriction of the stroke of the lifting gear by installing stops.
• Lifting or lowering the lifting gear against obstacles or stops (so-called block
travel).
• Moving the product when it is loaded.
• Transporting people or other loads (while the product is moving).
• The operation with unprotected mains cables that are not adequately robust.
• Non-commercial use.
2.4 Personnel qualifi cations
The activities described in this document require basic knowledge of mechanical and
electrical principles, as well as knowledge of the corresponding technical terms. To
ensure safe use, these activities should therefore only be performed by a properly
qualifi ed operative, or by an instructed person.
"Qualifi ed operative" means someone who can recognize possible hazards and take
the appropriate safety measures due to his professional training, his knowledge
and experience, and his knowledge of the relevant regulations. A qualifi ed operative
must comply with the relevant specifi c professional rules and have the necessary
expertise.
