TROUBLESHOOTING GUIDE

Check the following chart before requesting service.
SYMPTOM
POWER
No power.
Although the power is on,
the TV/VCR does not
operate.
TV BROADCAST RECEPTION
Poor or no picture.
Poor or no colour.
Picture wobbles or drifts.
No CABLE reception.
No reception above
channel 13.
Poor or no sound.

CAUSE
The AC power cord is not connected.
Cassette is not inserted.
TIMER REC button is depressed.
TV station experiencing problems.
Picture control is not adjusted.
Possible local interference.
Antenna (CABLE) connector is not
connected or possible local interfer-
ence.
TV station experiencing problems.
Picture control is not adjusted.
Possible local interference.
Antenna (CABLE) connector is not
connected or possible local
interference.
TV station experiencing problems.
Antenna (CABLE) connector is not
connected or possible local
interference.
Cable TV channel is scrambled.
CABLE connector is not connected.
TV/CABLE Mode menu option is set
to the TV mode.
Cable TV service interrupted.
TV/CABLE Mode menu option is not
set to the appropriate mode.
UHF antenna is not connected.
TV station experiencing problems.
Antenna (CABLE) connector is not
connected or possible local
interference.
Possible local interference.
MUTE button is depressed.

POSSIBLE SOLUTION
Connect the AC power cord to the
AC outlet.
Insert a video cassette.
Press the TIMER REC button.
Try another channel.
Check picture control adjustments.
Check for source of reception
disturbance.
Check CABLE connection or VHF/
UHF antenna, reposition or rotate
antenna.
Try another channel.
Check picture control adjustments.
Check for source of reception
disturbance.
Check CABLE connection or VHF/
UHF antenna, reposition or rotate
antenna.
Try another channel.
Check CABLE connection or VHF/
UHF antenna, reposition or rotate
antenna.

Check all CABLE connections.
Set the TV/CABLE Menu option to
the CABLE mode.
Contact your Cable TV company.
Make sure TV/CABLE menu option
is in the appropriate mode.

Check that MUTE button has not
