10. MAINTENANCE
For maintenance, use only specified spare parts. The
manufacturer will not be held responsible for any accident
occuring following a repair done other than by its After
Sales Service or approved repairers.
10.1 Replacing the batteries
For your safety, the detector must never be opened before
it has been disconnected from all sources of electric
current.
Unscrew the two captive screws fastening the battery
compartment cover and lift the cover off. The latter action
automatically disconnects the batteries from the internal
electronics.
Replace the three worn-out batteries with three new 1.5 V
batteries, taking care to respect the polarity (type R6 or
LR6), unless rechargeable batteries are used.
Close the battery compartment and tighten the two screws
on the back of the unit to ensure that it operates correctly.
10.2 Storage
Should the detector not be used for a period of time
exceeding 60 days, remove the batteries and store them
separately.
10.3 Cleaning
The instrument must be disconnected from all sources of
electricity.
To clean the casing, use a cloth which has been slightly
soaked in soapy water. Rinse with a damp cloth. Then,
quickly dry using either a cloth or forced air.
10.4 Metrological inspection
It is essential that all measuring instruments are regularly
calibrated.
For checking and calibration of your instrument, please contact
our accredited laboratories (list on request) or the Chauvin
Arnoux subsidiary or Agent in your country.
