19. Use the appliance only for heating water. Do
not use it to heat milk or other liquids, since
they will boil over when heated.
20. Never heat objects such as cans or bottles in
the electric kettle.
21. Make sure that the lid of the appliance is
always completely closed, to prevent inju-
ries from hot splashing water.
22. Do not open the lid as long as the water is
boiling, to prevent injuries from hot splas-
hing water.
23. Never fill the appliance with more than
0.5 liters of water, to prevent the water from
boiling over.
24. Never switch on the appliance if there is no
water in the kettle.
25. Make sure that all users, especially child-
ren, are aware of the danger of injury from
emerging steam or hot splashing water –
danger of burns!
26. Do not move the appliance as long as it is in
operation, to prevent burns from splashing
water.
27. The electric kettle features boil dry protec-
tion, which means the appliance shuts off
automatically if the heating element beco-
mes too hot. Allow the appliance to cool
about 15 minutes. Then fill the electric

imPoRtant infoRmation
Due to it's power rating and protective class the kettle model 8210/8216 cannot be operated with
an Euro plug (dipole). Please check before your travel which type of power sockets are used in the
respective country and check if your travel adapter has the correct socket for the kettle.
Please check also the available voltage in the travel country. When used in a 110 V~ net as e.g. in
the United States, the kettle achieves only a quarter of the rated power, i.e. approx. 250 W.
fiRst use anD oPeRation
1. Before the first use just wipe the kettle
inside and outside with a damp cloth.
2. Open the lid by counterclockwise turning
and fill the container with water.
3. Fill in at least 0.2 l, but not more than 0.5 l
max. acc. marking on the scale.
4. Close the lid acc. to the marks by turning it
clockwise until it clicks into place.
5. Put the signal pipe on the opening.
6. Plug the power cord into the mains. The
control light below the water scale will turn
on.

28. Do not use the appliance with accessories
of other manufacturers or brands, to prevent

29. Unplug the appliance from the power sup-
ply after use and prior to cleaning. Never
leave the appliance unattended when it is
plugged in to the power supply.
30. Check the appliance, the plug and the
power cord regularly for wear or damage. In
case of damage to the power cord or other
parts, please send the appliance or the base
for inspection and repair to our after sales
service (for address, see warranty terms).
Unauthorized repairs can result in serious
risks to the user and void the warranty.
31. If the supply cord is damaged, it must be
replaced by the manufacturer or its service
agent or a similarly qualified person in order
to avoid a hazard.

do not open the lid while the water is
boiling. If the kettle is overfilled, boi-
ling water can splash out.
7. Bring the water to boil. The pipe whistles as
soon as water is boiling. Pull the plug out of
the socket to switch off the kettle.
8. Take off the signal pipe. Take care of hot
steam. It is not necessary to open the lid to
pour out water.
9. The water from the first boiling cycle should
be poured away, as it may contain minor
dust residues.
