– Dry off any overflow or con­
densate immediately. Always
unplug the appliance from the
mains before doing so.
– Do not fill the jug when it is
sitting on the base, as water
spillages may cause an electric
shock.
– Only use the kettle if there is
no visible damage to the mains
cable, base and jug. If the
mains cable is damaged then it
must be replaced by the manu­
facturer, its after­sales service
or a similarly qualified person in
order to ensure that no­one is
endangered.
– You should never place any
metal objects in the base.
– Only use the kettle with the
base that has been designed
for it (type fontana 5).
Risk of burns
– When the kettle is heating
water, the outer surface of the
jug may get very hot. Always
use the handle to hold the
kettle.
– Never open the lid of the jug
while the kettle is in the pro­
cess of heating water, as hot
water may splash out. Hot and
boiling water and the resulting
steam can cause severe burns.
– Never fill the jug to above the
maximum fill level, as this may
cause boiling water to spill out.
– Always allow the kettle to cool
down before cleaning.
