13. Do not clean the electric kettle or
the base in a dish-washer.
14. Never touch the appliance or
power cord with wet hands.
15. This appliance is intended to be
used in household and similar
applications such as:
ƒ staff kitchen areas in shops, offi-
ces and other working environ-
ments;
ƒ farm houses;
ƒ by client in hotels, motels and
other working environments;
ƒ bed and breakfast type environ-
ments.
16. For safety reasons, never place
the app-iance on hot surfaces, a
metal tray or a wet surface.
17. Do not place the appliance or
power cord near open flames
during operation.
18. Always use the electric kettle on a
level, uncluttered and heat-resis-
tant surface.
19. Make sure that the power cord
does not hang over the edge of
the countertop or table, since this
can cause accidents, for example
if small children pull on the cord.
20. Route the power cord so that there
is no possibility of the cord being
pulled or tripped over.
21. Never wrap the power cord around
the appliance.
22. Use the electric kettle only
indoors.
23. Use the appliance only for heating
water. Do not use it to heat milk or
other liquids, since they will boil
over when heated.
24. Never heat objects such as cans
or bottles in the electric kettle.
25. Make sure that the lid of the
appliance is always completely
closed, to prevent injuries from
hot splashing water.
26. Do not open the lid as long as the
water is boiling, to prevent inju-
ries from hot splashing water.
27. Never fill the appliance with more
than 0,5 liters of water, to prevent
the water from boiling over.
28. Never switch on the appliance if
there is no water in the kettle.
29. Make sure that all users, espe-
cially child-ren, are aware of the
danger of injury from emerging
steam or hot splashing water –
danger of burns!
30. Do not move the appliance as
long as it is in operation, to pre-
vent burns from splashing water.
31. The electric kettle features boil
dry protec-tion, which means the
appliance shuts off automatically
if the heating element becomes
too hot. Allow the appliance to
cool about 15 minutes. Then fill
the electric kettle with cold water.
The boil dry protection is deacti-
vated and the appliance is ready
for operation again.
32. Do not use the appliance with
accessories of other manufactur-
ers or brands, to prevent damage.
33. Unplug the appliance from the
power supply after use and prior
to cleaning. Never leave the
appliance unattended when it is
plugged in to the power supply.
34. Check the appliance, the plug
and the power cord regularly
for wear or damage. In case of
damage to the power cord or other
parts, please send the appliance
or the base for inspection and
repair to our after sales service
(for address, see warranty terms).
Unauthorized repairs can result in
serious risks to the user and void
the warranty.
35. If the supply cord is damaged,
it must be replaced by the
manufacturer or its service agent
or a similarly qualified person in
order to avoid a hazard.
Caution!
Do not open the lid while the
water is boiling. If the kettle
is overfilled, boiling water can
splash out.
